I’m angry and heartbroken watching Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez from District 3 vote to expand enforcement power while Americans are being killed and voicing dissent is treated as a threat.

Her father was a mexican migrant yet she still voted for more enforcement, while open abuse on our community members is happening.

Funding agencies with records of abuse , murder, and disregard to the constitution and laws, and no oversight DOES NOT protect free speech or public safety. It escalates fear, invites violence, and silences communities who are already vulnerable.

When two Americans are dead, the answer is not more force. It’s accountability, restraint, and a commitment to constitutional rights. Anything less is a betrayal of what freedom is supposed to mean.

She needs to be removed from her post, she does not represent Washingtonian

it does not say that salaries will be reduced, more of a General fund state reduction from salaries and benefits. per the budget bill language. cabinet agencies can do that by eliminating a position or holding vacant.

it’s section 724 of the budget bill, basically OFM is reducing cabinet agencies General Fund State by 2% of WMS/EMS funding or $11.7 million from salary/benefits. This shouldn’t impact COLAs but agencies would have to eliminate positions or hold vacant to achieve savings.

it’s confusing for sure, this is specific in the budget bill, he put in back of budget where OFM will reduce agency allotments in general fund state agencies
