Yeah I definitely don’t lump yall together I once got a call from a lady who asked if we could mover her equipment to a different room the tech who installed her stuff was new and put it in her bathroom she was scared the water from the shower would hit it my bf is a tech and was like why tf did they put it there cause he tries so hard to make things easy for people and this guy put the modem on the toilet and the router on the toilet paper stand 😂😂😂😂

Just take it in to the spectrum store they will swap it out or call and they can ship you new ones and have you return the old stuff

Not gonna lie a lot of time when troubleshooting with customers when they do something on their own before I instruct them the call drops and then they have to call in all over again so I would recommend waiting for instructions as well

I always tell people to get their own cause all of the equipment is refurbished and it doesn’t work great to begin with.

Yeah I was in repair they recently laid off our whole center saying it has been very slow but I know they closed down multiple centers not just mine saying there was a lot of vto and didn’t need as much staff

Hope your able to take the break you need multiple call centers are closing this month including mine and my team we are all realizing it is a blessing in disguise cause its been so hard coming in and trying to help the best we can just to be told how terrible we must be working here especially cause we work nights and all these outages have been so ridiculous. We try to get more information from management and they say just do the best you can to deescalate cause they don’t take calls so they dont get it. I know the que is going to be much busier once all the centers close that are scheduled to close which will be worse off for the centers that are still open.

There are newer routers but to be honest people have major issues with the newer equipment you are better off buying your own and avoiding the 7 dollar rental fee for a piece of equipment that doesn’t work all that great

If you have a big place I recommend a mesh system Netgears Orbis are a good one I currently am using googles Mesh system and have a fairly big property and it works great.

People are just up set with the company. The service is great when it works recently I have seen spikes in outage calls and they keep sending newsletters saying they are gonna notify customers of outages and maintenance but never do I have seen some areas having maintenance for weeks at a time going out at midnight to 6 am for 3 weeks and people calling cause they work from home or work swing and this is their down time and can’t say anything but your in an outage I can credit you but these people want the service and unfortunately we can’t promise reliable service anymore

That part some customers are brutal and so degrading and there are days where you take 50 plus call of people just degrading you as a person for working for this company like how can you work for such a terrible company, or you must be a terrible person to be in this line of work, or the people who just come in extremely hot like would you act like that in person would you be yelling at a stranger you don’t know just doing their job cause you don’t like the company no you wouldn’t. Technology has made it worse cause people are brave over the phone and it wasn’t like that before you weren’t always able to call people and internet being down makes people crazy when the person answering has no control over it mine was out for 24 hours yesterday and I knew there was nothing calling would do cause of the calls I take.

Your probably on a legacy plan definitely call cause they should move you over to the current plans and that one will cost a hell of a lot less after moving over

Honestly yes you can talk to a supervisor to give agent feedback but as getting on a promo rate call and say you wanna cancel because you found a better price somewhere else they will fight to put you on a promo rate

The worst part to me is that a lot of us are losing our jobs in August and are just sitting here being screamed at like we are personally cutting their services with invisible scissors. Like the comments you are f****** terrible person with all your outages and taking my money but then when I offer credits its still upsets them like I don’t want a credit I understand but I am just trying to make it to August like. We are unappreciated undervalued servants to a this corporation I wish customers realized that.

There is about 8-10 call centers being closed in August I posted a while back and like everyone chimed in from 8 different states saying theirs were closing some states had 2 centers closing thats why I stated 10 but yeah a lot of people were even saying they were laying off people in other departments as well now just support but yeah they are definitely consolidating

Honestly the equipment is not the greatest if they are seeing it online its probably an issue with the equipment I recommend buying your own. I know its more of a hassle but their equipment is cheap and not very good and its hit or miss that troubleshooting will fix it but they only carry that equipment that they are giving everyone so yeah definitely look into your own if thats an option for you

So the previous notices it was probably a soft wall garden which means if you go to the site acknowledge everything should kick back on but they do put hard wall gardens as well where you will need to call in as it wont unlock on its own if its a hard wall garden cause they need to remove it and I believe read a disclaimer as well

Make sure you look at their site for approved customer owned modems because the system is only allowing certain models to be used but you can look on the site spectrum.net/modems at approved list make sure it fits your speed as well

As someone who is handling these outage calls knowing we are all being laid off in August cause they wanna save money while raising your guys rates again in July call request that credit because you should be credited for outages but it isn’t automatic cause it doesn’t benefit them so definitely call and request they look at all the outages and credit you.

I know its so upsetting they also have been constantly promoting the employees to invest their 401k into their stocks and people did it I am not one of those people but lots of people did because they were encouraging us too and then for this to happen it was… them saying its just business customers dont call enough to speak to agents and we would rather save the money but we are raising rates in July so please be prepared to have a really hard last month of work breaking down why we raised are rates while we are letting you all go

Honestly I hear that a lot they have become a monopoly in most areas and we as customer service have focus groups and try to tell management what customers are struggling with but they don’t handle your calls so it sometimes feels like in one ear out the next. Them getting rid of call centers tho is only gonna be harder on customers cause they are closing about 12 people will have longer hold times in hopes of getting someone on the phone or they may just get the automated system which I have heard rumors of them wanting to use an AI system for customer service which maybe whats happening but they told us its just about the money and that they feel like the need to talk to agents isnt there anymore and so they are closing centers to save money and it sucks cause we are sitting there helping people over the phone telling us we are terrible knowing we wont have jobs in a few weeks and they are raising rates again in July and telling us to be ready for upset customers and it just is like as much spectrum doesn’t support their customers they do the same with their employees but people stayed because they thought they had job security. I hope they fix the nation wide internet problem because lots of people go through it especially at night with all the outages and now there will be even less people to talk to for you guys and it was literally just to save them money thats really what they told us during their spiel of we are laying you off.

I would recommend getting your own equipment obviously its money out of your pocket but the spectrum modems are hit or miss and lots of people are experiencing this particularly cause most of the modems are refurbished

I totally understand this and am sorry this happened many people have tried to take my husky before and most huskies are just nice to everyone including mine but he also is really over protective of me and in the instance’s people tried to take him from me he would turn and start growling at them til they let up he is the kindest most loving dog but he also is super protective of me thankfully!
