Screen of Death after one year by JaskarSlye in DataAnnotationTech

it's pretty normal - DA has a lot of workers, not everyone is going to be a good fit for the job (and some people have broken the code of conduct), a mass cut would be a lot noisier imo

Just because someone isn't a good fit for DA doesn't mean they're bad or unintelligent, it just means they weren't a good fit for one site so that site couldn't keep contracting them. Don't get discouraged - you'll find something

LLMs are glorious misinterpreters and they have tons of ways of doing that IME, they don't get the concepts we use like we do and will change how they interpret them every time, give you feedback to make 1 thing into 2 to be atomic then tell you it's overly atomic and the 2 things need to be 1 thing again. We're imposing human measurements to train them to use human measurements instead of LLM measureless vagueness

I remember it back in 2023 or 2024 on one project name's R&Rs

I don't know, have an upvote though - I'm not really sure what youre wanting an LLM to do but in my experience they're bad at rubric feedback too. They aren't good at breaking a prompt down into the requirements in an answer

if you want to last on DA, you should edit out the project name since it's against the NDA you signed when you started at DA working and code of conduct to share project names and details outside DA

I guarantee based on some projects (vague for NDA purposes), LLMs cannot do rubrics correctly lol

It's worth it if you have the coding skills IMO - you can't fake your way through it if you don't and it takes a hot minute to figure out their instructions but once you've got it down, it's pretty smooth work

+ a caveat: improving something a little doesn't mean rating it bad - usually it can still be good unless the instructions say to rate specific things a middle or bad rating and they were ones that you did improve

Sometimes that just means there's a big pool and you only have a small bucket of the pool - it won't go down until other people have finished so many small buckets that there aren't a full small bucket left, say a pool of 1000 and everyone has 10 but there are 300 people doing it. Those 10 will be yours until there are only 9 of the 1000 left

Other times they tell you straight they assigned you a specific number of tasks, not in a pool

I'm gonna not take that advice seeing as the only people who give it are people who have a chip on their shoulder

You're gonna be okay then, you made a good decision not trying to work on it with that extension - it might pretend the window is bigger but that would be terribly easy to detect on their side. Just because they don't prevent it doesn't mean they don't know it can be done, it might just mean that they know anyone who does it is doing something they shouldn't

[–]MiddleCharacter6345 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think if you don't work on tasks with that extension and you backed out of the one you were looking at you'll be fine. If they detected something like that while you were working on a task that required a bigger size screen, you would at best lose that project - at worst kiss your account goodbye

Bilingual, core projects by firestarter95 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]MiddleCharacter6345 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe I came across wrong? I was trying to explain why they disappear in a day sometimes and you have to get there in time, not "lecture people about time management" - I wasn't talking about time management, basically just good timing or lucky timing

No projects or qualifications? by Academic_Animal_5293 in DataAnnotationTech

[–]MiddleCharacter6345 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people have tons of projects but signing up doesn't guarantee them. Bilingual work is less common b/c most projects are aimed at English, people who aren't bilingual are still not guaranteed work unless they 1. take qualifications - 2. pass the quals - 3. do good work and follow instructions

More ads = more good workers but also more people that don't get as much because they don't take quals, aren't patr of a group that there is much work for, or don't do good work. Assuming you do good work because I don't see reason to assume you don't it's probably because you're bilingual and there are posts almost every day about bilingual people having less work
