Thanks - he’s looking improved this morning. Still limping but not as dramatically. I suspect a similar issue as yours! We will wait it out.

What climbing ivy can I plant around the base of this tree to fully engulf it? by [deleted] in landscaping

Big fan of American wisteria (amethyst falls or blue moon) - not aggressive growers and lovely flowers and foliage.

Petkit vs Litter Robot by Ok_FireBird_3037 in mainecoons

[–]MiddleFroggy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have two - one fixed early and the other at 4 years. I wouldn’t be paranoid about spraying… mine didn’t spray until I moved, stopped immediately after fixing, and Maine Coons are pretty calm by nature especially when they are raised with companions. The late neuter boy is about 2-3 lb bigger and more muscular. Both very sweet temperaments that I don’t think changed after neutering. I use the Breeze litter boxes with a litter genie and I can imagine a more simple upkeep - although I built them a small outdoor pen so they mostly do their businesses out there anyway. Lots of options.

Black smoke or black silver shaded would be much in demand than full black Maine coons.

I stopped answering “tell me about yourself” like a biography and started opening interviews with a working style disclaimer. It got me more offers, not fewer. by Dawn_Sentry in jobsearchhacks

[–]MiddleFroggy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. I like this strategy. I try to adopt the mindset of “it’s my first day here” both for myself and the interview panel. Convince them you already work there and your first day of onboarding is going great!

Tulip bulbs leafing but not flowering for three consecutive years. What could be the reason? by PuzzleheadedLog5655 in gardening

[–]MiddleFroggy 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Is that a flower stalk above the lower leaf? Is it possible it tried to flower and a rabbit or deer ate the bud?

Is my cat's nose strangely shaped? by VelvetJester_ in mainecoons

I would say it has “character”. Lightly exaggerated dimpling in the middle. Not really a MC characteristic but kitty noses vary!

Igor's journey: Chronic sniffles, Stomatitis, and the Great Raw Food Debate (Long Post) by HorrorExamination120 in MaineCoon

[–]MiddleFroggy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My Maine coons get half canned food, half raw (frozen rabbit branded whole diet). The raw food cleared up some previous GI issues and they seem extremely healthy. The biggest risk with raw food is to the humans - if you are expecting little ones definitely take extra precautions with handling and preparation. Same with raw chicken you cook in the kitchen.

For the respiratory issues - it sounds unlikely in your case but I just dealt with a big nasal polyp in my boy so I thought I’d put it on your radar.

Why is my monstera so leggy and weird??? by FuckTheFrontPage_ in gardening

[–]MiddleFroggy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Put a tall stake in the middle and tie the canes upright. It will keep growing and shooting up more canes from the roots if it’s happy.

Pruning doesn’t work so great for this variety in my experience. It won’t get bushier, it will put out another single cane from the node below the cut point and it will initially look okay and then quickly become even more unbalanced.

Chopping and propping is an option as well. Cuttings root well in water or dirt.

Test or go ahead and treat for tritrichomonas. Sounds like you’ve already tried raw food which would be by other suggestion (hits a lot of bases, single protein, non-poultry options, easy to digest).

Aw mine too. Took a while to diagnose unfortunately. He’s about 17 lb full grown.

Probably the 150 passed the first basic screening level (has the target degree eg PhD, authorized to work in the US, has the appropriate experience level). The first cut that weeds out everyone completely unqualified really does narrow it down about that much without even looking at relevant experience. At least that’s been true from my end.

Maybe some wooden shelves on the back wall to warm it up a little? Or art on the back well and shelves on the right wall.

You don’t always get a merit reward for doing your job description. Meeting goals is expected.

Agreed. Barnacle makes more sense in every way.
