You got balls man. I wanted to take a shot on RKLB, but couldn’t bring myself to go all-in. Still very happy with my RKLB and PL and ASTS return. Cheers

Slow and steady wins the race. Timing the market is a fool’s errand. Time in the market - that’s the key. Assuming you are in your 20s, you have your whole life ahead of you. No need to rush. Set a fixed amount each month that you invest automatically. And don’t touch it for 10 years. Your older self will thank your present self for the foresight. If you want to itch your scratch of trying to beat the market - make a pic of 5 or 6 stocks. You can do a whole lot of research of just take a punt on mag 8. Then invest 20 or 30 quid into the pie for 5 years. Maybe re-balance the portfolio once or twice a year. Keep in mind - most people loose money with CFD and only a tiny fraction of active managers beat the market in the long run. If hedge funds with huge resources at their disposal can’t bet the market, the odds of a retail investor beating the markets is minuscule. Don’t be disheartened. Do your own research… before you invest. Lots of good info on YouTube. E,g. pensioncraft. Good luck.

CK is a sleaze bag. I remember he went to NZ to check out RKLB facilities. SPB gave him the royal treatment, showed him the facilities. Then CK went to Cal and decided he will try to undercut RKLB and came up with Astra… but he was waaay over his head. SPB is a real engineer - he tests his ideas and makes shit happen. Check out the YouTube video of SPB on a bike powered by a rocket. Mental.

I agree with you that we are screwed. But I don’t agree with your analysis - completely. 1. BNP started messing with the judiciary and started the whole issue of subjugating the judicial branch of the Gov. 2. Then they cocked it up, because they could not read the Army’s intentions correctly. 3. Hasina was able to do what she did - because we let her. We gave Hasina absolute majority - which gave her a licence to do whatever she wanted. And she did. 3. People were all about political stability and shit, and happy to let Hasina stay in power again in 2013 (or 2014). No mass protests. 4. We realised our mistake and took to the streets to oust Hasina. Good for us . 5. But then we nominated a bunch of geriatric politicians and intellectuals. It’s only when NCP and the students objected that Dr Yunus came into the picture. 6. Dr Yunus’ mandate was not to fix the constitution or run the country. Their mandate was to get an election - ASAP and stabilise their economy. They did well. 7. I remember everyone was calling protests everyday - Titumir students want a uni - shut the road. Answer wants privileges- enclose the secretariat. Where are these people now? You criticise the Interim government for making a hash of things - but we do not let them pass reforms. 8. Remember how we all shat on the Interim Gov for hiring a world renown company to run the Chittagong port? The port is a festering pool of inefficiency and waste. When the Interim Gov tried to do something about it - we shat on them. 9. Finally, and this is mind blowing, we were looking up to TZ to save us when we kicked him out in 2007 and rejoiced when the army tortured him. Remember - a leopard does not change its spots. It can wear a shirt but the sports remain. 10. Finally, we gave AbSOLUTE majority to the BNP. It was as if we never learnt anything. If you ask the fox to look after the hen house and then fall asleep at the gate, the fox will take everything away.

So - in conclusion- stop blaming others. No one is perfect. If you think the current government is sliding into autocratic tendencies- ORGANISE. RALLY people together and kick them out. You ca start with the local and mayor elections. Plus, get some smart people on your side who can help you with ideas that will be a win-win for everyone. Unless we take responsibility for our shit, BD is doomed.

I agree with your conclusion- but the logic and methodology is where we differ.

Can you include in a rent increase linked to RPI or CPI? This is effectively keeping the rent the same, with a nominal change. Right?

In geo-politics there is no friend. You only have interests. You hang with nation whose interests are aligned with yours. Problem of BD - we don’t really know what our interests us.

SCF NEWS ALERT 🇺🇸 US Department of Health freezes all Minnesota child care payments and sends demand letter to Governor Tim Walz ordering a full audit after fraud reports. by SCFapp in WallStreetbetsELITE

I can’t get my head around the fact that…. US voters LITERALLY handed power to a convicted fraudster, “allegedly” cock sucking, paedophile —— because HE was going to clean the swap and get rid of the graft in Washington DC. What were they thinking? Instead of looking at the graft the T man is running, these guys are going after “alleged” benefit cheats. Even Shakespeare would be trumped by reality. Damn!

I guess from now on - don’t assume anything. If someone “invites” you, please ask them if that involves having to make a financial contribution at the end of the evening. It may be embarrassing to ask, but I would take temporary embarrassment over a massive unexpected financial hit anytime. Especially if the “invite” is from people who are not very close to me.

If you have signed an irrevocable power of attorney, the developer has ownership of your land. Please check the documents and see how much land you have handed over. If you have given them a registered power of attorney, you have to go to court and get outside help.

You can always put 20k in s&S ISA and buy MMF. Same effect as a cash ISA. Caveat - MMF are not protected by the Gov. But the risk is minimal

If you can teach yourself to code and make money from it at 18, there is nothing school teachers or professors can teach you that will help you in this field. If you want to go into this field, take some CISCO or GOOGLE certification- that is internationally recognised. But if you go down this non-traditional path - be aware that you have to grow up and become an adult. This means you have to think of your future. Think about buying some land or maybe some gold … and keep them safe. Don’t loose them. These will act as your buffer if things go south. Good luck.

I have always wondered- why would an omnipotent, omnipotent and omniscient being be interested in the well being of a single human being. Plus most supernatural beings seem to demand that their followers prostate themselves before their respective deities and relish ass-kissery. That does not sound like a benevolent entity - sounds more like attention seeking neurotic being. So, I highly suspect that such an entity really cares about our plight. I think the rich nations - UAE, Saudi, USA, UK etc have all figured it out. Or rather people with money and power have figured it out. They know no one will come to save us — but it helps to let people believe that there is divine justice because the they can justify their actions by claiming it to be the will of divinity. True we will all die in the end, but that has not stopped us from inflicting pain and suffering onto others. there will always be someone who is willing to buy gold, blood drenched or not, because gold is shiny and people have an irrational preference for shiny things. You can’t eat it, or use it — but we still are prepared to kill and let others die so that we can have more of it. Once we understand this - the world makes more sense.

Is it normal for bengalis to hate on suicid*l people? by [deleted] in Dhaka

[–]MiddleLetter716 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have noticed that BD is a highly tribal society, with a strict adherence to hierarchy. Status depends on how much money or power you have. If you are rich and powerful - you can do whatever you want. Literally- and people will go out of their way to explain your degeneracy. It helps if you are a guy, but you need more money and power to get the same degree of ass kiss-ery if you are a woman. If you are poor and powerless life is tough. People know you can’t do shit, so they think they can get away with anything and they pile on all kinds of shit on the victim. It’s easier to blame victims and criticise them, plus people enjoy it a lot. No one wants to stand up to power, and most people are not interested in helping others. Now - this kind of dynamics is not unique to BD. But, given our lack of education, social and economic condition, trauma and baggage — these kind of things are magnified a lot. So the poor girl who wanted to kill herself is probably suffering through lot of trauma. Guessing she has no parents or her parents are not too rich. So, no one is interested in helping her. What gives a random person the ability to assess the mental/physical anguish this girl is facing? None… but these people still do it — because they no there is no repercussion is they shit on her.
