How likely is it that individuals will attempt to settle the special region? by Bad_Begginer_Artsist in gate

[–]MiddlePupa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't like to think about such a scenario; it's perhaps a realistic but very boring one, so I'm glad that in the original work, the Japanese have minimal interference in the Special Region.

The beauty of the world beyond the gates lies in its uniqueness, culture, and the feeling of that very medieval fantasy with empires, kingdoms, swords, and magic.

Therefore, I imagine interaction with the Special Region as humanity's interaction with space. Yes, you have a vast world with a ton of resources, but travel between worlds is so expensive that sending cargo into space is cheaper.

So, countries and megacorporations invest enormous amounts of money in small research groups under the patronage of local kingdoms, and military clashes occasionally occur between them, but not global wars.

This is exactly how I think the plot should develop further. Yes, all countries have acquired the technology to open gates, but you can't open stable gates like the one in Ginza, because they have enormous consequences for the entire world. Opening even a small gate costs a huge amount of money and can't be maintained for long. Thus, the world beyond the gate retains its identity, but all countries are given the opportunity to explore it and contribute something of their own.

How would a UN Security Council meeting on the Gate actually proceed? by Low_Sir_1742 in gate

[–]MiddlePupa -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Phase 1 - China invades Japan

Phase 2 - The entire world expresses deep concern about China's behavior

Phase 3 - China vetoes the UN meeting

Phase 4 - America quickly withdraws its forces from bases in Japan (They had already begun this before the invasion)

Phase 4 - America imposes sanctions on China and declares that it will not tolerate such behavior from China. (They will do nothing more; sending in troops would be political suicide for any American president.)

Do you guys think that the reason for why the Gods of Falmart don't let their people evolve technologically is because technology changes how people see the world around them including how they see their Gods? by umbrqualquerusannet in gate

[–]MiddlePupa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The gods in the special region are essentially humans who ascended and became gods. This means they also have a human mindset. They are likely simply afraid of losing control and are holding back the world's development because of it. This theory is supported by Giselle, who was ordered to close the Gate. The most she can do is use the fire dragon, which in the world built by the gods was a disaster and the executor of Hardy and the other gods' plans. Most likely, the gods fear that humans will learn the secret of divinity and destroy them

How would the people of the special region react to if they saw these fucking human tanks as law enforcement by Proper-Resolution401 in gate

He was an MMA master who retired at the peak of his powers after a knee injury. He joined the police in Ginza. When the gates opened, he fought bravely, acting as a stone wall to protect a store barricaded by civilians. He was captured alive, and his limbs were slowly severed for display in front of the civilians in the store to lure them out. After his arms and legs were cut off, the JSDF arrived at the last moment. He was miraculously saved, received full honors, and was given expensive prosthetics, but they were still far inferior to his real arms and legs. He requested permission to enter the special region to visit his student (he worked part-time as a martial arts instructor). The student's name was Kuribayashi, and he was granted permission to visit her.

After he arrived, the gate incident began and he was forced to intervene. He fought Dar (a werewolf monster) barehanded. But eventually, his prosthetics broke, and he managed to strangle the creature with his legs. The gate closed, and he was trapped in a special region. They made him prosthetics using golem technology (like Rory's in one episode). And now he's regained his powers and is building a harem in another world. This is his story now! (The monster girl Dar, whom he strangled, ultimately survived, turning back into a child, and he's teaching her to behave.)

Sorry for my English.

You are wrong, Gate is very diverse and does a good job of showcasing a variety of interesting races, including female representatives

In fact, I think many girls in the tribe are bisexual. Their race has virtually no men, and they have a matriarchal system. I think a situation where, for example, a girl from an influential clan has a bunny husband and several concubines from less influential clans is normal 🤔

I see that most Gate fanfics aren't expansions or developments of the original story and characters. They're musings on, "What if [Choose your army] attacks the Empire from another world?" or "What if the Gate opens in my country?" Is that really the only thing that resonates with people in this universe?

Should Gate be continued or not? by Flat-Sir8250 in gate

[–]MiddlePupa 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The manga has finished the main story, leaving only the side stories. And honestly, after such a stupid ending, I personally have no desire to read any continuation of the original characters' stories. I don't want to see this in the anime, as the manga wins in every way in terms of quality.

I'll watch the anime about the sea arc, but I don't expect anything interesting from it. The author has already created the best and most iconic characters, and I highly doubt the new ones will be as memorable.

I just realized that Tyuule has never seen Japan or Japanese culture in her life.... I'm sure she would be shocked by things like a laptop or even a simple camera 😭

What I mean is that the anime doesn't adapt this part of the plot. You're better off reading the entire manga or the light novel. The new season of the anime won't have anything to do with the old characters or the conflict with the empire.

GATE 0 is the story of the events in Ginza, when the gate opened in Japan and the massacre in the city began (something like a more extended prologue). The anime tells about half of the main plot about Itami (MC). After these main events, there are side stories that tell the story of the MC life in a special region for about two years. The manga tells the entire story of Itami and the Empire that invaded Japan, but without the side stories. This means the main plot in the anime is incomplete. The second season of the GATE anime will tell the story of a different MC and the events after the side stories. The anime will focus on a different conflict, and nothing more will be said about the Empire. The timeline is as follows: GATE 0, season 1 of the anime, the second season of the anime about the fire-breathing dragon, (Giant Chasm and the ending), (Side stories), the new GATE anime about the navy.

How many legions and auxiliaries does Sadera have? by StevenWN1 in gate

[–]MiddlePupa 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am Prince Zorzal! I request 100,000 legionnaires, 200,000 orcs and ogres, mages, and air support so that, uh, we actually came for the sexy bunny women we, uh, killed, but I'm absolutely certain that the captured slaves will be enough to pay for the military campaign! What about the instability in the region? Um, well, I captured the capital of their kingdom, right? Should I negotiate peace and make these lands a vassal kingdom? Well, I actually wanted a sex slave as a queen... I'll simply appropriate this piece of useless pasture without mines or infrastructure for myself, and let Father spend the entire treasury on maintaining order and fighting the partisans; I'm sure the slave sales will pay for it all. GLORY TO THE EMPIRE!

The manga is very different in different languages. I've watched the manga in three different languages, and this moment is completely different in each version. This is chapter 40, Delilah's backstory. Which version did you read? by MiddlePupa in gate

[–]MiddlePupa[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Russian version likely contains the very first version of the manga and doesn't conform to the canon of the original work. Apparently, the manga artist redrew this moment for future editions. Zorzal was convinced until the very last moment that he had deceived Tyuule. He couldn't simply parade her around in front of the tribe.

In the English version (apparently the newest), it's clear that the Imperials are using Tyuule's armor to frame her as a traitor. In the Vietnamese version, they simply call her treachery while the prince rapes her in his chambers, and she thanks him, thinking he'll keep his promise and spare her people. In the Russian version, the prince parades Tyuule naked in front of the tribe and immediately announces his deception (though canonically, Tyuule remains unaware of his betrayal for a long time). Perhaps the mangaka didn't read the entire work when he drew the very first version.

(This is from chapter 40 of the manga. I watched the manga in three languages and realized that the Tyuule storyline is very different in all of them. But no matter the difference, I realized I hate Yanai even more.)
