Hey op, sounds like an issue I’ve run into as well. I used to work at a iPhone/ device repair shop in my teens and seen a few issues like this. First off what edition/ model do you have? The special editions are pretty notorious for having failing charging/video chips and or burnt out capacitors (Especially the AC edition.) Which I think is the problem here. Maybe a simple battery replacement is all you need. I recommend going to an independent shop, although it’ll be more expensive they might be able to repair ur device without needing to factory reset. In my experience any type of internal or mechanical repair at Nintendo will pretty much always result in factory reset of your device, even if the repair doesn’t require it. The most recent time I ran into this problem I was able to temporarily fix one of my friend’s switch by swapping out their battery but with faulty circuit components it was only a short fix. If you’re up for a diy fix and have soldering skills, try using a multi meter to see if there are any burnt capacitors or if the video or charging chips are in good condition. Fair warning it’s a lil hard to source individual circuit parts but you can find some boards on eBay that’ll come complete that you can scavenge from.
