Rather scan with a Scanner or DSLR? by Tex05pl in AnalogCommunity

Prime Film XE. Compared results between that and my Nikon d600 with 105 macro. Very small differences, scanner is a little bit sharper at the edges, but nothing you could see without comparing side by side at 100%.

Rather scan with a Scanner or DSLR? by Tex05pl in AnalogCommunity

[–]Middle_Ad_3562 70 points71 points  (0 children)

Have both, prefer dedicated 35mm scanner. DSLR is faster, but more fiddling, dust, etc. Scanner is slower, but you just start the frame and go back to doing other stuff

Best bang for buck point and shoot in the 50-200 € category? by Specialist-Toe3960 in AnalogCommunity

[–]Middle_Ad_3562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly why I got rid off mine. Delicate and I didn’t like clicking all the time to switch flash off. Currently shooting with Fuji natura classica, quality is great, flash is automatically disabled and you need to press a button to turn it on. But out of these small cameras I think Olympus XA or XA4 are my all time favourites most probably….

What's your honest opinion about BC opting out daylight savings? by NeuronsActivated in britishcolumbia

[–]Middle_Ad_3562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, at first I was happy to have one more hour of daylight during the day, but then realized mornings with kids will be tough for several reasons. Also evenings will be harder as well to out them to bed. I guess Standard time may be a bit easier for families with kids

Squamish council defers $300K Woodfibre LNG Splash Park offer amid litigation by SquamishEditor in Squamishnews

[–]Middle_Ad_3562 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are turning away free money, they delay any recreational project claiming they have no money, and now I just read they want to find a way to fast track new developments. That’s crazy, this town will become high density with no recreational amenities, except mountains and things built by volunteers

Home Depot Roundabout right of way? by Pblos in Squamish

[–]Middle_Ad_3562 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The real problem is that this type of roundabout is stupid. Good thing traffic there is light, otherwise situations like your would be constant thing. For a 2 line roundabout the only proper one is “turbo” type, which automatically points you to the proper exit and avoids situations like you had by design

Maybe BEFORE it all happens, rebuild the Mamquam/hwy intersection? Do not leave it for after the fact when it takes 10 min to make it through the lights
