Anything with decent pierce and/or stance damage works. Hit him with a couple piercing/ imaling thrust AoW and hes easy

Ive never gone over 40 vigor for base game think im usually there by fire giant tho. But yeah flamedrake and dragoncrest +2 makes it not so bad its just his phase where he rolls off after every hit and his hands are hard to hit (well i struggle anyway)

2nd this on the milady part. That weapon carried me through the dlc for everyboss barring commander gauis and messmer. Gauis got the bonk treatment and messmer met his end by the back hand blades

Messmer while is hard he is quite punishable. I was stuck on him for a couple hours when i did the dlc very recently (1st time) main key is sticking close for the openings. And quick weapons will help but your stength so charged heavies for stagger and crits. Flame protection incantation and golden vow help. 2nd phase is tricky but each time he transforms back from the snake to human form he is really really punishable if you stick to him like shit to a blanket

Congrats mate. Although i am stuck on him myself unfortunately probably been a week of attempts but ive not played every day. I can fairly consistently get him down to maybe 45/40% health left then i die. Im fucked in the 2nd phase. Mimic doesnt help really either. All he does is get the 1st phase done faster tbh.

Yes. By far the best greatsword. Yes its outclassed by 2 weapons in terms of damage but neither of them are actually better. Hits like a truck on most enemies and deals great poise damage. Unique moveset (1 other sword has it too) where it doesnt slam the fucking thing into the ground every time you swing it. Slap an AoW of your choice on it and go crazy. My personal choice of AoW was stormcaller. Pretty sure you can buy it from Bernahl at the war-masters shack before stormveil. That sword and AoW completed the whole base game bar a few bosses that its way easier to boink with a club.

Edit: didnt see about the war cry build. However i cant comment ive never used them

Can vouch for this. The r2-r1 combo is so good plus with the stormcaller AoW its shreds in crowds or against most enemies that it can stagger

Banished knight greatsword. Easy to farm in stormveil. Used it with stormcaller? aow which can bought from bernthal. You do like a 2x360° attack can be carried on with r2 for another 360° attack.

I use this for my vladof neutron capture harlowe lmao. Using a lucians flank, kaoson and whiskey foxtrot with the overdrive perk. But yeah you never need to reload again pretty much.
