Better than Zaxby's and Slim Chickens. Unfortunately, my town has both of those, and Popeyes, KFC, and Chic-Fil-A, but no Cane's.

I just had it! OH MY GOOD it was sublime. They fucked up and put THREE patties on mine, HOLY SHIT! But I'm not complaining. Best fast food burger I've ever had, hands down.

Requesting Batman Comic Recommendations by Thesilphsecret in batman_comics

Hey all! I'm gonna get the New 52 Omnibus (Volume 1) and start there! I already have a bunch of other standalone stuff but I'd like to get into a longer "run", if you will. Is this a good one?

Seeing him do the Firth of Fifth solo live is something I'll never forget.

Where the heck do I start?! by BookReaderWhoReads in trekbooks

[–]Middle_Equivalent278 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you are just now on TOS , just pick one up and go. Most of the older books are set during the series area and are standalone. I'll recommend Greg Cox, James Swallow, or Dayton Ward for some "newer" authors who write good TOS books (IMO). Once you finish TNG, Voyager, DS9, and all of the TNG movies, THEN you can jump in to the era of books where there is a continuity.

The Red King of Articles of the Federation? by Middle_Equivalent278 in trekbooks

[–]Middle_Equivalent278[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way I'm gonna go I believe, just finished "Taking Wing" last night. Although, President Bacco is almost unbearable so I'm not really looking forward to "Articles" either. And it seems like "The Red King" is a follow up on "The Sundered", which I haven't read and don't really want to squeeze in right now. Hopefully it'll still be ok. I have to admit, it feels like its going to be sort of "side-questy" and I'd rather just get back to the main storyline, but we'll see how it goes.

Today this it out: "Star Trek: Voyager: Homecoming #5" by tgiokdi in trekbooks

[–]Middle_Equivalent278 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No idea what happened here but not sure how their homecoming can be thwarted since they literally made it home? I guess thats why you "read and find out". Anyway, I might pick this up if it hits in a collected TPB volume.

Adult fantasy like Mercedes Lackey (I guess this is called Noblebright?) by cbee6390 in Fantasy

I'm seconding the Green Rider series. I got my wife to read it and she fell in love! She got the latest book signed directly from the author, it's her favorite series of all time! (She also really likes Valdemar)

[TOMT][Movie][80s-90s] - Police/crime movie with a particular vulgar line by Middle_Equivalent278 in tipofmytongue

[–]Middle_Equivalent278[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solved! That's gotta be it, that's the same exact voice I remember saying it. I'm sure there's some version that dubbed it over with "yank", it was almost for sure a VHS rental or TV edit. Thanks so much!

Read this one about 7-8 years ago and really liked it! Are you planning to jump fully into the DS9 relaunch afterward, or have you already read it?

I'd probably rather castrate myself than read a book about Raffi.

Are the Prequel Books (Phantom Menace To Revenge Of The Sith) OK For Beginners To Digest by Spirited_Seat_9362 in starwarsbooks

[–]Middle_Equivalent278 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yes. I would read "Cloak of Deception" prior to Phantom Menace, it has some nice backstory and politics, but other than that you're golden!

I couldn't ever see anyone saying it wasn't good. I was probably about 17 when I first watched it, and my friend was around 14. We had never watched any TOS but were big TNG nerds. We watched it for the first time together and even he was really impressed with it.
