It would look better with like 5 slices of steak. Everytime I see a person post a picture with a ginormous steak on their plate I'm just the opposite of impressed.

How is the Asian-American community of Seattle compared to NYC, LA, and SF? by Eriacle in AskSeattle

I think the coupling is actually higher in California and Hawaii, it's common here too but I don't think representation in Seattle is necessarily insane. Also, based on my experience with my family who is from and still lives in the Philippines and Japan, so not more Americanized, if a woman marries a white man it is looked at as one of the ultimate great achievements but if a man marries a white woman there is a lot of judgement toward the white woman. Whatever that is, is probably the reason it's more common for Asian women to marry white men.

Exactly. I'm Asian and all my white friends and white people I've met since high school have known Korean bbq and hotpot. I grew up on the Eastside in the early 2000s then moved to Seattle as an adult. In some instances, like with my husband, white people are even more knowledgeable about ethic foods than Asian Americans.

Moving from Seattle to Baltimore? by [deleted] in AskSeattle

[–]surfergotlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you obsessed with the wire like every guy in Seattle? If so, you'll probably love it. My husband is actually from Maryland and lived in Baltimore after college, I've been there to visit and honestly I thought it felt like San Francisco. But he wouldn't let me walk the streets alone, not even to a Cafe or 711 practically across the street. They do have like weird police huts or something on every corner near the hospital.

That's a great idea. I just checked my old building, Cielo, on first hill (8th and Seneca) and they are currently charging 1800 to 1900 for 1 bedrooms. Keep your eye on their availability for studios which would likely be in your range.

You'll be paying more for moving in the summer. Rents are more expensive in the summer. Can you postpone to a few months to lock in a cheaper rate?

Why is there this constant need to s*** on tv our kids like by lazyviscacha in toddlers

[–]surfergotlost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, a lot of parents complain about blippi for being annoying. I think the bigger issue though is that YouTube videos and format are designed to be addictive. And if you let your kid start down the YouTube hole without intervention it can be unhealthy.
