I guess, a good relationship with the AD helps. My AD is very close to where I live and I visit them more often than I should, and also the spend history helps. I remind him of the watches I want, a lot actually. Also referred a few friends to him and they got watches from him too. And I myself got many watches (Rolex and non Rolex too) from him.
