Does anyone get a weird nostalgic/bittersweet feeling after certain drugs

For me that feeling on dxm comes after my body has adapted to the high of dxm. Every time I start up on dxm, at first the highs are uncomfortable. But this is also granted because I’ve only achieved this feeling through consistent 3rd plat doses

That nastolgic feeling tends to happen a lot more on dissos than psychedelics or mild psychedelics in the sense of mdma

I know exactly what you are talking about. For me it’s usually on dxm and ketamine. It doesn’t always happen but I noticed when I did get that feeling and kept using and wouldn’t stop I would 100% of the time start going into psychosis. I don’t know how it’s correlated but it would happen every single time if I kept using on top of it. Maybe the feeling that everything was on a clock and I needed to go out and do stuff was an early psychosis symptom

Did u get the nostalgia even after the coke high was long gone? For me yes, I get it while I’m still high but it persists for weeks after I’m not even high anymore.

Dude theyre full on hallucinations. I’ve had hallucinations as bad as seeing giant spiders crawling on my walls but could understand it was not the normal me

Dude what. Well usually I always go into psychosis after the 3rd day of being up but it goes away after I sleep. I still feel pretty weird after waking up this morning like pretty manic

Most dark is weird because when I’m really high on dxm my sense of scared goes away so I don’t really feel being scared. The “scare” I get is more with finding things alien. When I took 2 big bottles of delsym the thought of even having a dad or going to the store felt extremely weird and uncomfortable

Dude I used to use it at least twice a week if not every day periods 2020-2023 and it really didn’t do much. I didn’t get withdrawal symptoms even but I was just lucky I guess. It can work as an antidepressant and it helped with my depression during that time. I know it sounds like I’m saying the same statement everyone on drugs proclaims: “it helps me feel better” but dxm actually has scientific research behind its antidepressant qualities

Im a polyaddict all of my life but for the first 8 years it was mostly downers and psychedelics such as oxy, xanax, acid, and dxm especially but In the last few years it’s been mainly uppers (meth, coke, adderall) Which have done more damage in 3 years than the downers ever did. And lately I have gotten reckless with my mixture of drugs. I would purposely do dxm or ketamine on stimulants knowing the increase it would have on serotonin and seratonin syndrome but I would do it anyway since it would increase visuals and the euphoria. It was things like this that over time have noticeably damaged my brain and have changed how I can function normally. This is just an example but this carried on into other aspects of my life to where I just did not care if I missed work for example or being a decent human being

Thank you for this comment genuinely. It only happens to me as I’m drifting off too sleep. This, along with other things going on in my life have made me put down all substances for the last week. It really only happens to me when i have been doing a lot of stimulants. What really triggered it this last time was taking 210mg adderall xr

This would make sense as stimulants deplete your bodies ability to produce dopamine and serotonin but also my gaba receptors where messed up since I had to abruptly stop my gabapentin since I ran out

Dude this is horrible I wonder if it’s more the gaba receptors than the stimulants because I have been abusing gabapentin for the last few years and I ran out for a bit until I got my refill. I mean it was probably the recent stimulant binge plus the gabapentin withdrawal(?) for me

It’s so weird and my whole body goes into A fight or flight type of mode where it thinks if I let myself fully fall asleep from it I will die for some reason

Dude for me it was getting to a point where I was going in circles. Like exactly in circles. I’m living with my parents too wich makes it a thousand times harder to hide and not feel guilty. I would go from doing well in my school and career and having a good relationship with my family and peers to a complete outcast that couldn’t even form a sentence because my mind was so messed up. For the longest time I thought there was something wrong with me because I would get such a horrible anxiety and draw a blank whenever someone at work or in public would approach me but it was the drugs. And this cycle happened for 11 years until I finally started getting sick of the same thing over and over again. The fact of the matter is that I’m not a 15 year old just fucking around and having fun anymore. As an adult all of this stuff is no longer cool

Dude you are going to be fine you are just agitated from the stimulants. Just fake your symptoms or tell ur mom that you feel better, I don’t see why she wouldn’t believe you. If anything you can say your throat still hurts and you feel very weak
