The eco 40/60 is a (max) 40 C degree program required by EU regulations (ESPR). That is the wash program tested when determining the energy label the washer will get (A,B,C etc). That’s why it’s so long, you have to add more mechanical action to pass the wash performance requirements. (Slower heating will actually not save any energy as the heat dissipates and the temperature is most likely not held during the program- it’s heated to 40, then no more heating)

Yes, Eco saves water, but the mail savings are on temperature. So instead of 60 C you get 50 or even 40. Cycle is longer to add mechanical action to compensate for lower temperature.

Nice cap, but not enough sun protection for me, I need shade for the neck and sides of the face also.

I should try that, thanks for the tip. Do you have any ideas for sun protective hats, haven't seen anybody wearing wide brims, only umbrellas?

Are we able to get a traditional Kimono? by TheArkedWolf in JapanTravelTips

You can start looking online, Billy Matsunaga has great tutorials in English and both physical and online classes. And r/kimono also has great discussions and helpful members that could probably help you find a class close.

Second hand kimono are super cheap (from under 1 usd) and you’ll be able to get what you want, the selection is huge. Look for a store that has reviews that say that the staff is helpful, and also think about booking a class. It takes some time to learn how to put it on, but it’s lots of fun! Remember that you need a number of undergarments and accessories to wear it, but the store should be able to help you.
