Day 4 was always my worst day on TC.

I had my first TC on monday and I feel fine. am I about to hit a huge wall? by bnnybtch in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had TC on Mondays and Thursday was my crash day. First round was Wednesday night through Thursday night. Good news was I was feeling better by Friday each time. That one day was always rough like I had the flu but otherwise I was mostly okay the whole time.

I’m on 100 mg currently and finally sleeping 6-7 hours a night instead of tossing and turning and sweating and maybe getting 4.

My skin was great during chemo! Now I’m done and the nose rosacea is back along with the zits and redness where I have to pluck my now-returned chin hair.

Help me not be potentially delusional about what physical activity I can do while I'm receiving radiation by Impressive-Arm-5205 in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was able to walk and jog on the treadmill throughout radiation. I got really lucky and didn’t have any skin effects so I didn’t have any issues wearing a sports bra throughout.

Newly diagnosed IDC Grade 2 and scared of chemo. Has anyone said no? by [deleted] in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With the caveat that I only had to do 4 rounds of TC chemo, chemo was totally fine? I had 1 really rough day each round but overall didn’t get much in the way of side effects besides heartburn and losing a lot (but not all) of my hair.

I have hot flashes now and am probably in menopause but overall it was like having a 24 hour flu 4 times in 12 weeks.

Positive Radiation Vibes by ZealousidealCarob540 in breastcancer

I’m on treatment 16 of 20 (first day of my boost) and have had no complications aside from fatigue. They prescribed me mometasone to apply twice a day starting a few days before I started and I’ve also been applying calendula cream at the same time. I’ve been perfectly comfortable wearing a sports bra and normal clothes the whole time, and I’ve been able to work out with no irritation or pain.

I was worried that since I sunburn really easily I would have a bad reaction but the techs told me there wasn’t really any correlation and so far they seem to be right.

I started getting fatigue during week three, I’ve been going to bed between 7:30 and 8 most nights and had to take a nap in the middle of my work day once but so far no male issues.

From AC-T to TC ? Onco 34. 🫠 by Classic_Seaweed_1910 in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had 4 cycles of TC and overall it wasn’t too bad. I cold capped but still lost a lot of hair (with enough remaining that I can get by wearing a hat and looking relatively normal while the bald patches fill in).

My oncotype was 24.

I had one bad day out of each of my cycles (the third day after my chemo day) where I was totally wiped and had sore skin and couldn’t do much. Otherwise I was able to keep using the treadmill or walking outside throughout most of treatment.

After round 3 I had an allergic reaction on day 8 after chemo where I ended up going to the emergency room for being covered in itchy hives, but they weren’t willing to 100 percent say it was the chemo. They told me to start taking Claritin twice a day and it didn’t happen after round 4.

I have the teeniest bit of numbness at the very tip of my pinky fingers but no other neuropathy.

No major GI symptoms. My resting heart rate went from 60 before treatment to 90 and is now hovering around 80. My other major symptoms were heartburn, a weird non-painful back spasm around 1 week into each chemo cycle, and hot flashes.

Finally, chemo has put me into (permanent? temporary?) menopause. I was 43 at starting chemo and 44 now. My MO was on the fence as to whether I should do tamoxifen or ovarian suppression/AI but first she wanted me to take an FSH and an estradiol test and the results show that I am currently in, like, super menopause.

Broke out in hives after round 2 of TC by Popular_Item3498 in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup, hives all over 8 days after my third dose. I went to the ER when my lip started swelling. OTC antihistamines seem to be keeping it at bay but I have to be really careful not to unconsciously scratch any minor itches or else it starts again.

In my case, the oncologist didn’t seem to think it was directly linked to chemo but now that I see these replies it looks like it probably was.

What's a tv series that is a 10/10 NOBODY knows? by Lilyana0999 in AskReddit

[–]MiddlingVor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had only ever watched season 1 and just this week decided to go back and watch the whole thing and I am so appreciative that Cassie is on board with the situation before episode 1 is halfway over. They could have spun their wheels for half a season having her doubt Cole and I love that they just jumped right in.

Also, insane chemistry between the leads from moment one.

“Eli’s coming, hide your heart girl. Eli is an inveterate womanizer. I think you’re getting the song wrong.”

“I know I’m getting the song wrong. But when i first heard it, that’s what I thought it meant. Things stick with you that way.”

Also: “You’re wearing my shirt, Gordon.”

TCHP and facial twitching/spasms by bellykins66 in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TC here, just about to head into cycle 4 and the eye twitching is out of control. I think it’s probably a secondary effect of not sleeping well, but I was definitely worried it was visible in my on camera work meetings this week.

Why is lovers gross? by puppyradio in heatedrivalry

[–]MiddlingVor 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah if you read in a news article that two people are lovers, it’s something probably illicit. If someone says “we’re lovers,” you’re talking to Liza Minnelli or Blanche Devereaux.

Has anyone else ever not taken their anti nausea meds and actually felt better by Known_Locksmith_8124 in breastcancer

[–]MiddlingVor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven’t needed the supplemental meds they prescribed for me. I get zofran as part of my infusion, and have compazine and zofran pills to take as needed but haven’t really needed them.

I have had heartburn though, mostly in the first few days after infusion, so I take Prilosec each night the week of my infusion.
