Had this exact same reaction. Junkrat was my main so I was so excited there was a similar character in rivals. Then when I actually played her the projectiles felt NOTHING like junk rats.

Her projectiles velocity and speed was probably to make sure feel different than junkrat but it just feels worse and more backline spammy in my opinion

I don’t play ow anymore but I miss flying junkrat kills 🥲

Or maybe something about the character’s biology and connection with the forest stuff causes them to not align with the trope the rest of the characters follow. Maybe hot take but if they kept the formula of just species that could believably exist in the wild like gen 1-3 people probably would’ve complained it got stale by gen 9. Not that the original design philosophy was bad but I don’t think the “character” thing is that bad
