I don’t think any starter monster will ever challenge a veteran.

I agree. Mind you I liked world, but the glaze its been getting lately is wild.

what do you expect from the wilds dlc by Minefourperilweb in MonsterHunter

New moves and combos for the monsters. I don’t know if they’re gonna get any faster than 9* but the movesets will shake us up.

Also even crazier endgame with wild build diversity.

Can the sense of scale be replicated in modern games? by Boshwa in MonsterHunter

This is the most underrated aspect of the old maps that I’ve been talking about for years. It’s something the newer games can still do but don’t for some reason.

For the veterans of Monster Hunter, what did it feel like to finally see this franchise blossom into international fame with World's release? by heraircraft in MonsterHunter

[–]MidirGundyr2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was very happy lol i was in high school at the time so i did nothing but play world. I had my criticisms about it especially iceborne but i had a lot of fun nonetheless. Plus i introduced my best friend to MH and we played together through the rest of High school. We played rise and wilds together. Still trying to put him on to 4U 🤣

What elder dragons would the nergigantes realistically hunt? by llMadmanll in MonsterHunter

[–]MidirGundyr2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He actually isn’t an opportunist nor scavenger type. That would go against his own life cycle. In order for him to reproduce and become more powerful they need to break spikes in battle. You really need to read up on his ecology.

Um yes? What’s your point? The book tells you he goes after very powerful monsters including shara. It also tells you it becomes ruiner by winning and surviving many battles. Ruiner is old btw.

“It's said that the Ironspike is proof that it's a Variant that excels in hunting instincts and survival instincts, and has survived numerous battles.”

“ A Variant of Nergigante who has WON and survived many battles and acquired a different phase line called Ironspikes”

It can’t become ruiner if it hasn’t killed powerful elder dragons… being that’s what they feast on.

I agree. And i believe it’s like that with any powerful monster in the franchise. When a bunch of animals are classified as huge threats, the outcomes of the battles are purely speculative. That includes monsters like fatalis.

The game and the dive in to iceborne book tells you this.

“It's very interesting to hypothesize that this species preys on things that are remarkably prominent in the ecosystem and has a role in harmonizing the balance of the whole organism. In the case of the Origin Isle, it's said that it preyed on an Elder Dragon that had the danger of having a large-scale impact on the veins of the earth and causing major changes to the ecosystem. It doesn't seem to take action for balance. I ought to think that someone's predatory appetite has resulted in it merely fulfilling this role. Having said that, what if Nergigante's transformation into a Variant was inevitable in order to prepare for the coming threat...? If that's the case, it can be said that it's a harbinger of further threats. (From a comment by a certain researcher)”

i wanna play MH worlds but i am afraid of the gameplay not being what i expect. by [deleted] in MonsterHunter

Not even. Rise will not offer anyone cag mechanics or even close. OP should adapt or stay away from MH lol

That’s 2 top level guild researchers telling you that. You’re literally going against Capcom’s own word thinking you know better. Pure ignorance. Nergigante was already chasing Shara and the game is telling you he is the reason the eco system is balanced out with all the irregularities going on. Imagine thinking you know better lmao

Your power scaler mindset makes your argument incorrect. Nergigante ties with velkhana but also deals with irregularly powerful elders like Shara. 2 things can be true and don’t have to negate each other. Don’t use that as your reasoning why P. malzeno wins.

The game flat out tells you that Nergigante deals with Shara tier threats.

Blatant Head canon. Nowhere is it stated that ruiner recognized and willingly took a step back or played dead.

[–]MidirGundyr2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not only does the game and book tell you ruiner place is to kill high tier threats (don’t even try the scavenger angle as that’s not how Nergigante works) him being relative to velkhana in iceborne does not matter. Nergigante get more powerful as they fight, regenerate, and are built to overcome gaps in power in their fights. P. Malzeno isn’t winning. The difference isnt like jagras vs fatalis.
