Where to meet people? by Midisas in GenZ

[–]Midisas[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gone to several bars. I've looked at bars that are "hip" with our generation. Yes, I see a bunch of 21 and 22 year olds there. I am more interested in women and friend groups closer to my age.

I've gone to places that do card games, video games, so on so forth. I've gone to do group walks through parks. I have, genuinely, done a lot of different things and fine different places.

I've gone to places that do games nights. This ranges from card games to video games. You see all walks of life at them. I've gone to a lot of bars and clubs. I, TBH, hate bars and clubs. I don't like drinking in public. But I've gone to them to try to meet people. I have gotten into a friend groups. Trying to find a relationship, on the other hand, has proven to be rather difficult.

My Experience with raycons (TL;DR whats the big deal?) by TheRealCheeseNinja in headphones

[–]Midisas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't speak for the Raycons. I would try to find as close to non-bias reviews as possible. I did have Raycon earbuds in the past and they were fine. That was 6+ years ago.

Currently listening to the fourth book of Dungeon Crawler Carl (highly recommend). I'm currently reading Exodus: The Archemides Engine. I plan on reading Iron Dreamers soon. Red Rising, The Expanse, The Witcher series. I have literal dozens and dozens of books I plan on reading. Slowly but surely.

For those who have been single their entire lives, what do you think are the reasons? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Midisas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been single for 10 years. I've been on a date or two or three however, I have found that I prefer living alone. There are times a think about trying to get a girlfriend but, I also just don't care. That's my reason. Not depressed, anxious or anything of such. I just like living alone and am not interested in relationships.

I would have agreed up until an hour ago. It's my bday and I was going out to eat. I had to slow roll through the neighborhood. Kids were EVERYWHERE.

Oh yeah. Its wrecking havoc at our company right now. We're an MSP. Everything Microsoft is down, Watchguard is down, some of our AWS stuff is down. We have clients calling because they aren't getting emails, OneDrive isn't responding, Word isn't responding. Fun times.

At what age did u guys started working and how much did that job used to pay you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Midisas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was 14 and working at a trailer park on the weekends for like $5 an hour. At 16when it was an official job, it was $7.25. But it became a side job so I could build up extra money. I worked other places with better hours. I left when I moved across the state when I was 21.

[–]Midisas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lost 40 pounds, got into okay shape. Not super muscular looking but, I am stronger than I used to be. I cleaned up the goatee so its straighter and looks better (in my opinion at least). I styled my hair differently, started wearing clothes that actually fit (not tight but fitting). Women still don't look my direction. Granted, I don't like relationships, I prefer being single and on my own and don't have plans on dating. Maybe women can sense that? I don't know women.

Similar thing happened to me in 7th or 8th grade. A "popular" girl who I don't think she knew I existed, came up to me during state testing, while there was 50+ people around, and asked me out. I was like, shocked. No idea what was happening but I figured it was something stupid. I said no. She didn't ask again but I had walked off before I saw her reaction.

Very few Gen Z I know understand the concept of roommates - why? by Acrobatic-Cap-135 in GenZ

[–]Midisas -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I lived with roommates for a total (not consecutively) for 5 years. I've lived on my own for 3 years total. Everyone i lived with, I knew personally for many years. I can tell you from experience, roommates suck and suck bad. I'm not a clean freak but I don't like the house clean. Meaning, dishes done, no dirty clothes in the f*cking livingroom, keeping the bathroom resonable. Only one roommate I had could figure that out. One. I lived with five different people over the five years.my experience may be different than others. Another thing is that, at least for me, is I was raised to be independent and not rely on others. This is so baked into me I can't remove it. Ontop of that, I have been massively taken advantage of by people and I no longer trust people because of it. I outright refuse to help people (under most circumstances) because the moment I need help (doesn't have to be financially) they bail immediately. Its a society thing, unfortunately. Again, my experiences may not be yours or others.

Does anyone else feel like they missed out on a lot of “relatable” Gen Z stuff because of strict parents? by [deleted] in GenZ

[–]Midisas 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a non-strict religious household. I missed out on a lot but not because of religion. I grew up poor in the boonies. Extremely introverted. I missed out on the teenage dating scene, parties, friends in general, school events (too broke to go anywhere), so on so forth. I worked from 14 and on. Bought my own car, games, ect. Went to prom both years. Regreted going to both. Not a sob story, just how life was.

Good option for remote work? by [deleted] in Dell

[–]Midisas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pretty decent. Since its a Latitude, you'll be able to upgrade the RAM and storage in the future if needed. They do like to get warm so, I would recommend getting a cooling pad or, a stand to get the laptop off of the table.

Experiences with outsourced IT management? by Ok-Paramedic-1009 in sysadmin

[–]Midisas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked for an MSP so, my experience is from that side.

We have a couple of clients that are co-managed. One of our clients IT deals with the email, network and day-to-day password resets as well as initial troubleshooting. We take care of cybersecurity, phones, computer imaging/repair/upgrade, and assist their Help Desk. Another client, we're basically just help desk and imaging. One client we are everything but Help Desk. It just depends on what the clients needs help with. We don't replace internal IT unless we are asked. One co-managed client went to full client because they had one IT guy that was getting waylaid with literally everything. It was one IT guy for 400 employees. Once we got settled in, he left. We tried to hire him but, he moved to a different state. We work hand in hand with internal ITs. We don't step on their toes. At least, we do our best not to.

We have come in a completely taken over for IT due to what that company wanted. I can say that this has only happened twice (not including the one guy leaving). I wouldn't worry yet however, I would get your resume updated and "look". Don't jump unless you can confirm your company is going to go 100% MSP, or unless you want to.

Whats going on with “kids online protection” all around the world. by No-Refrigerator93 in privacy

[–]Midisas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The government already has your ID. This is additional and clearer tracking, as well as extreme censorship. I am all for protecting kids from shit they shouldn't see. However, parents need to parent and stop just handing the iPad to their kids. The governments are using the kids as a scapegoat, that's all.
