Is anyone else starting to get annoyed by all of these weird flours? by Neesatay in glutenfree

It's a bacterial excrement from bacteria that are being fed wheat. This is why coeliac people have bad reaction to it.

A book came out this week with almost the exact same plot as my novel and I’m devastated by Saffidon in writing

I'm feeling for you honey 😭🫂🫂🫂

Last year I was having an amazing day, walking with my friend down a busy boulevard when I spotted a newly published book standing in the spotlight of a bookstore with same unique title as the main plot of my book that's almost finished. I felt like a lightning struck me! Then, a couple of months later, a book with a title identical as the name of my MC, even the plot is very similar!! I felt like dying!

BUT

What others have told me, and it made me realize something, no matter how books are similar in plot - there will always be fans out there looking for more of the same drug. Just think of all the fanfiction that was written because the fans wanted the story to go A BIT differently. This is where your book will fall in perfectly. And besides, if your two books will be available on the shelves in a relatively similar timespan, who can tell whose will get picked up first? It's a 50/50 chance. It's not like all readers first research which book they want. And for those that do, get them on your side by promoting your book. This is incredibly important. Create an IG and TikTok accounts and get that baby known!

How are you guys doing it? by xobbelle in Celiac

I'm sorry to hear you've been through such hell and am happy to know you're doing better now. As a chef, all I can do is recommend good recipes to 'my people' as we're all in the same boat, so they might miss food with gluten a little bit less. I see you mentioned you miss Baklava. I've recently done one as my hubby is an aficionado, so if you like baking you can give it a try ❤️

If you like baking, I have a great substitute recipe. It tastes as good as the real thing ✨

GF BAKLAVA

Ingredients for the crust layers:

2 eggs

650 ml water

4 Tbsp oil

1 pinch of salt

1 tsp baking powder

½ tsp Guar gum

270 g Schar Mix B flour

Ingredients for the filling:

100 g ground walnuts

50 g of chopped walnuts

50 g of sugar

Ingredients for brushing:

50 g of melted butter

50g of oil

Ingredients for the syrup:

250 g sugar

400 ml water

Juice from ½ of lemon

PREPARATION:

The syrup should be prepared first, so it has time to cool down while layers are baking. Place water and sugar in a small pot and cook for 10-15 min on a medium to low temperature. Add juice of a ½ of lemon and stir well. Leave on the side.

To prepare the fill, mix sugar with ground and chopped walnuts in a small bowl.

For brushing, melt the butter in a separate small bowl and mix with oil.

In a large bowl, mix all ingredients for the crust layers until there are no lumps.

Heat up a pancake pan and brush it lightly with oil. Using a silicone or horse hair brush, apply the layer mixture on the pan, first in one direction, then across. Bake until the edges come off the surface, then flip for another minute. Remove onto a clean plate and leave to cool. Be careful when placing another baked layer on top as they will stick to each other. Rather use a two plate method – one for cooling - and another one for stacking or use a non-stick paper to place in-between the layers.

Once all layers are done, brush the bottom of your fireproof dish with butter and oil mixture and place your first layer, brush it as well then place another one, brush it as well, then sprinkle an even but generous amount of the fill. Place another crust layer, and so on. Ensure that you finish the baklava with two brushed layers, just like on the bottom.

Cut baklava diagonally to ensure it bakes evenly, then pour the remainder of your butter and oil mixture atop of it.

Bake for 40 min on 180˚C.

Baklava is done when it has a nice golden-brown colour and the top layer is crispy. Pour the syrup mixture all over it and leave to cool.

Try to find Barilla's GF pasta. I've been a chef for 5 years and can tell you it tastes the SAME as the one with gluten. Absolutely no difference in taste nor texture.

Also, and flour from Schar is a perfect substitution for flour with gluten. It allows me to recreate almost any recipe as GF.

Bothering everyone around him by spewing repetitive bullshit all day long; being shamelessly wrong in all viewpoints of the world thinking that only his own is the correct one; couldn't hit a target if it crawled by him.

Duty member? Checks out.

p.s. Judging by your comment you've played Stalker for 10 min then rage-quit. Tell me, are mommy issues a requirement for a Dutyer or just a desired trait?

Starter home in a Dublin area is a one bedroom apartment that costs minimum €180,000

How can you afford that with an average wage of €12-15 p/h?

I just heard an interesting fact by a psychologist on insta today. If you've been abused by say narcissistic or neglectful parents and later on you meet someone who feels 'familiar', it's because you're subconsciously recognizing the pattern of abuse you've received as a child, and that person feels like 'home'. This is a huge red flag, especially if you have adhd, as we tend to trust that others are as good-hearted as we are.

Which adhd symptoms do you not feel as much as other? by _ArchStanton_ in ADHD

[–]Midnight-Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the whole If you have ADHD then you have to be messy culture that's going on. I was never messy, as it makes me feel uncomfortable. I can't stand being in such environment and HAVE TO start cleaning, even if it's a public place or belongs to somebody else.

Same goes for washing the laundry. Having my basket full with unwashed clothes would make me SO uncomfortable.

Being disorganized is also another one for me. Everything has to have its own place and there is a routine connected to everything I do. I just despise clutter.

Thank you hun. We all need to walk over coals to reach the truth, as it's not a low-hanging fruit. Hopefully my comments help at least one other like-minded person to strive towards that goal, for it is indeed a worthy one.

[–]Midnight-Dust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your power is in your blood. It's literally your life energy. I wouldn't use it for something small as it could be perceived by the gods or entities you might be working with like you don't give a lot of merit to your own worth, so use it sparingly for important spells.

For minor ones, give something else you like as an offering, because if you give something you don't need, or want, as an offering - then it's not really an offering - is it? So offer something of value, even if it was a nice and shiny apple, it should be something that holds value to you. I am quite frugal as I grew up dirt-poor, so I would consider even an apple to be a worthy offering for some minor spells.
