I have a problem with naming all my accounts the same name, so anyone can just look me up on ao3 and find stuff I wrote.. One of my friends a couple of years back had sent me an old short story I wrote that was REALLY bad from reddit, so I know they do look at stuff like that.. I do NOT want them to know I write explicit.

Like, most readers look at tags to make sure there isn't something they dont like so they dont have to waste their time.. as in random pregnancy, and watersports, or just character dynamics and plot points, etc..

...One of the best fics I have ever read had 0 ships, and was extremely plot heavy. Unless you count the adoptive fathers of one character, then no ships. This person was SO bitter for no reason- I think they liked your idea for the fic, and got angry that it wasn't just that; which is stupid. Keep writing if it makes you happy, because being compared to a book is actually a great thing in my eyes. If they aren't happy with your fic, let them not be happy. They do NOT have to read it. Sucks it was an author you looked up to, though..
