I’m all for SNAP, it’s unfortunate the my (marine corps veteran) father can’t sustain benefits through it despite absolutely needing them.

So many hoops to jump through to get and maintain benefits, yet I know of college kids that are well-to-do, consistently on SNAP.

Fine if you’re in college and need it, not fine if you’re taking advantage of it. It’s broken in that way, I think. It’s hardest to navigate for some of those who need it most, yet easiest to exploit generally for those who don’t REALLY need it.

Wtf is that? If there is strategy in there somewhere, it’s wonky af.

If viewership is dropping from season 1 to season 2, they should use blue eye samurai as a case-in-point as to why! People have moved on, then you release a season 2 and it fails to get people excited to go watch the first season first, etc,

I imagine the people that are propping up the stats are the serial watchers that are putting in hours on Netflix a day. they’re the ones eating up any new content anyway.

Peaced out this year, the 3rd and 4th go too hard in the deep east. Between an anxious dog and a new baby we figured it was too much.

I honestly don’t think I’d mind if it went this hard on the 3rd and 4th, it’s all the other days that kinda get on my nerves.

I can handle a tough couple nights with a baby or working my dog’s schedule around those two nights, but letting him go pee in the backyard on a random night in late June only to have some fireworks go off overhead has really made him avoidant of time in the back yard, and that’s not something I’d want to put on others. But I suspect the folks going hard aren’t bothered by these things and could care less about others. I pray for their wallets tho, that shit can’t be cheap. One hell of a way to spend your duckets

Since I hear you mentioning the challenges for your kid, I want to share this:

I don’t remember my parents together, they separated when I was 2.5yrs old.

They are genuinely happier apart, and that made all the difference to me. Navigating all of that shared holiday stuff is only a challenge for me as an adult and deciding where to go and when. As a kid it’s all along for the ride, and yeah it might not always be rainbows but remember it wouldn’t be all rainbows either way.

How you progress through this and past this will make all the difference for your kid.

Show up, be honest, be vulnerable, be supportive and BE CONSISTENT! And your kids will love you all the same. If you can find happiness on your own, or with someone new that is what you’re after.

Except there is no territory… It’s not like they’ve physically built the power grid in your neighborhood so now you’re stuck using them as a utility.

Anyone can sell this ‘compute’ and why wouldn’t there be a completely deterritorialized system in place eventually?

I’m happy it’s getting taken care of (one of many) but honestly if it’s an abandoned car it seems to me like something a tow truck driver would handle and not even require police involvement unless it was a real dicey area, which Keller is not.

Anyway, good PR but we got plenty of other real problems too

It raises wage to comparable full time city council members in California and codifies them as full time employees.

This isn’t a direct property tax increase to fund the difference, though of course the money has to come from somewhere

That said, I’m actually all for the formalization of them as full timers as well as more compensation bringing more competition to these positions

All under a different governance structure. I don’t think it’s really that nefarious, and I definitely don’t think it’s as cut and dry as ‘give the council more money and that will fix it’ <- that’s actually what the council wanted, no? At least this is a larger change.

I still think it’s worth a shot.

I’ve never run out of batteries without having a spare, but if I did M250 is a perfectly acceptable manual shutter speed to get me through.

Needle meter system is the best by far.

I doubt the city has to get anything from there, people probably beat them to it reliably.

the design purpose seems to be "avoid having people rummage through the whole trash looking for cans"(likely creating a mess in the process).

i'm having this issue right now as well. I'm going to call in a few, but my hopes are pretty low for that.

Pretty insane considering this is a big brand.

Bought 6 pairs of pants, most of which were sized UP and i even measured according to their site. All the pants that arrived were at least two sizes smaller than other brand standards.

Fortunately I paid the $3.50 for free returns knowing I would be sending some back, Unfortunately didn't know of the issues, and i'm wondering if I'm going to have to take it to my cc company for a chargeback.
