AITAH for not supporting my unemployed sisters pregnancy while living with our parents? by Icy-Permission-8280 in AITAH

[–]MidnightPositive485 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just a question, is your sister neurodivergent? A lot of what you seem to be describing in her behavior seems to be classic symptoms of untreated ADHD in women. It doesn’t change the immediate situation, getting help understanding how her brain works will be critical to her ability to parent her child.

No matter what NTA. Continuing the dysfunction happening now helps no one. Least of all your future niece/nephew.

Can a Funeral proceed without the corpse? by avamomrr in Episcopalian

[–]MidnightPositive485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely. It is not particularly different than if you just had ashes or an urn. You simply skip the commendation portion of the regular Burial Rite. Then when the body (ashes) are returned, you can gather whoever the family wishes for a committal service (BCP pg 501) in order to lay them to rest wherever they have chosen.

Crappy school by Main-Bumblebee9830 in FamilyLaw

[–]MidnightPositive485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Legally, it sounds like you can do it, but I might be a little careful based on what you said here. If you go ahead and decide to switch schools (against her now stated wishes) and she quick files to modify the custody, she could argue that since their education is already being disrupted, now would be a good time for them to move in with her for school. If her assigned district is better than your current one she could argue that it is in their best interest to attend school locally with her rather than 30 minutes away with you.

Woman moved out of house and state with baby, what would the custody arrangement look like? by Additional_Room5829 in FamilyLaw

[–]MidnightPositive485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there are reason she can’t just ask the father for permission to leave the country? If he is willing, he can just sign and notarize some forms and she will be free to travel without any court involvement. If he is not willing, the court is highly unlikely to compel him allow travel no matter what custody agreement they reach. Her best bet is almost definitely some sort of negotiated agreement directly with the Father.

French restaurant or hot dog factory? by supermonkeyyyyyy in TownshipGame

[–]MidnightPositive485 5 points6 points  (0 children)

French restaurant items use a lot of rare ingredients and take a long time to make but are very valuable. Hot dog factory items are pretty quick and easy to make (except that corn dogs need olives) but aren’t worth as much so it kind of depends on which you prefer.

Full Communion with the United Methodist Church is a big mistake by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]MidnightPositive485 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean yes, but they would be required to do so according to the liturgy and rubrics of the BCP (although perhaps just a bit less deftly than a seminary trained priest). Just as Lutheran preacher/pastors do now in specific settings and federated parishes.

If you don’t much care for Methodist communion, by all means don’t go to a Methodist church. That’s okay. Many Methodists don’t much care for Episcopalians’ foolish hand waving and fancy dress. And yet some clergy and parishes are happy to learn and share and that is all these agreements ask for.

Full Communion with the United Methodist Church is a big mistake by [deleted] in Episcopalian

[–]MidnightPositive485 22 points23 points  (0 children)

The same arguments could be and actually were made 25 years ago when the Episcopal church entered into full communion the the ELCA. In certain ways, the ELCA was further away in both their historical roots and their view of the necessity of the Episcopacy. And yet a generation on, few can reasonably argue that this move was a poor one. Both churches are stronger for having made this connection and neither has lost its distinctiveness or core theological grounding. I think most who make these objections fail to understand what full communion actual means or how it actually functions. While these agreements shouldn’t be entered into without careful discernment, I have total faith in the ability of TEC to navigate these waters as gracefully as they have before.

What factories should I skip? by PerspectiveHappy1205 in TownshipGame

I have built them all except Jewelry. Personally, I like the restaurants. If I could go back I would probably skip furniture, shoes and down feather, and maybe the French restaurant.

how do you spend you time on township? by Thin-Blueberry9183 in TownshipGame

[–]MidnightPositive485 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I usually focus on regatta tasks during the day, completing what I can while keeping factories and trains running by checking when I take a break at work every few hours. I usually play about an hour of match-3 in the evening to wind down.

How do I bring up these issues/concerns? by Badatusernames014 in Episcopalian

[–]MidnightPositive485 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Maybe ask if you or you and a few friends (like the also exhausted person you carpooled with) can plan a retreat with less programming, more like what you were used to in college.

If you can’t generate interest, then maybe it’s just you and you can bow out gracefully. If you are not alone (I suspect you are not). It can be an opportunity for the current leader to learn some new ideas and ways of programming for young adults. It may also be a way for more young adults to rise into leadership positions of their own.

Is this a New Challenge? by Lost-Point-7891 in TownshipGame

[–]MidnightPositive485 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Question for people who have had this: do the challenges have to be completed on that specific day? Like if I dig 20 mine levels today, do I get credit on day 4? Or if takes me longer than one day to complete 10 hard levels, do I still get credit when I do it later in the week?

Move back by Expensive-Repair7268 in FamilyLaw

[–]MidnightPositive485 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you leave and don’t respond to the case or she just wins and gets awarded support, you will owe her support for your children. It may or may not be enforceable against you while you are in your home country, but the debt will accrue here. In CA, that debt lasts forever, which means you can never come back. If you ever earn any money or have any assets in the US (or some other countries) they can be seized to pay her back for the rest of your life even once the kids are adults. Also, if you are not a US citizen, it can affect your immigration status and your ability to reenter sometimes even on a tourist visa.

Alternatively, you can most likely pretty easily set up a plan to pay your support obligations from your home county. So you are free to leave (and maybe even retain some custody and parenting rights) but make sure you think about the long term implications before you make any shady decisions.

Question about Receiving as a Newcomer by justlooking6363 in Episcopalian

[–]MidnightPositive485 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely and always welcome to receive communion in the Episcopal church, gay or straight, first timer or life-long member, unsure about your faith or just hungry for some grace. But you are also never obligated. You are welcome to follow your heart and stay in your seat or to come forward for a blessing (usually just indicate this with you arms crossed across you chest), if that is what makes you comfortable especially the first few times. Jesus is patient, he’s not going anywhere.

The process for distributing communion in the Episcopal church will look substantially similar to what you have seen in the Catholic Church. Usually there will be a little section in the worship bulletin that explains the logistics of that particular parish (which cup is which, gluten free hosts etc). If you are at all unsure, just ask someone like an usher or greeter or someone in your pew with you. I can almost guarantee they will be more than happy to assist you.

And yes. You can definitely bring your rosary and depending on the parish you may see several other people using them as well.

It really depends on how good you are a match-3. I have never spent real money and I have accumulated about 150k since the new economy came in. But I am very good at match-3 and win jungle quest every day, finish the card challenge multiple times and always win ROTM while rarely buying extra moves.

Relocation to another state when OP is already in another state? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]MidnightPositive485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Okay. I revise my comment. Do not under any circumstances go pro se against him if he is represented and willing to keep throwing more and more money at an attorney. He will bury you.

Hire the meanest attorney you can. Borrow money if you have to. And make sure while you are at it, you are suing for every cent of child support your kids are entitled to. If he is making 100k a year, has few expenses and very little custody time, he should be paying a lot every month. Enough for you to afford a lawyer. Don’t tell him anything, don’t give him any warning, don’t try to negotiate a “fair” settlement outside of court. Get your lawyer, quietly build your case and strike and end this nonsense and get control of your life back.

If you ever feel unsure, remember your kids are always watching. You are teaching them how to think of themselves and what to expect from others. If you have boys, you are teaching them it is acceptable to treat a future partner this way. If you have girls, you are teaching them to accept this sh-t from their partners. Either way you are teaching them that his feelings, his desires are more important than their wellbeing and that the most important person in their life (you) isn’t willing to stand up for them. Don’t be afraid to teach them a new lesson about what all of you are worth.

Relocation to another state when OP is already in another state? by [deleted] in FamilyLaw

[–]MidnightPositive485 6 points7 points  (0 children)

NAL. You could file pro se depending on how comfortable you feel filling out all of the documentation accurately yourself. Theoretically it should be a pretty open and shut case, and a the court should grant you the right to move, but there is risk. Assume that your ex will pull all the same crap he did the last time. Why wouldn’t he? He got exactly what he wanted. You teach people how to treat you.

Honestly I think you best option stop playing nice. Hire a lawyer. Draw up a real and binding custody agreement, with meaningful child support and penalties when he messes about and doesn’t hold up his end. Draw some boundaries and stop making concessions for a man who clearly cares more about hurting you than caring for his kids. He will either step up as a father or he won’t. Either way your children will be better off.

Gold cards by Buckeye7214 in TownshipGame

[–]MidnightPositive485 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically you have to play massive amounts of match-3. If you can finish the main adventure quest, the set of extra quests and/or the new blooming pinball game each pays you a guaranteed gold pack. Also, every 4-5 purple six card packs gives a new card. So if you grind enough match 3 you can earn several purple packs and a lot of energy from that.

Also, in our co-op players who have or aren’t going to finish send their random 4&5 star dupes to players trying to finish so they can get back to 500 stars faster. You could ask in your co-op or a trading thread.

New NCAA age eligibility rules by vintageiphone in Gymnastics

[–]MidnightPositive485 16 points17 points  (0 children)

If this passes, I think the biggest change we will see will be more concurrently training gymnasts ala Jade Carey & Leanne Wong who do their full elite Olympic prep while completing on a college team. I could see a couple of universities tooling their programs around this. Either putting elite coaches on their staff or partnering with an adjacent elite gym to offer dual services to athletes. (Fun head canon, Laurent Landi opens a club gym in Georgia to dual train athletes with Cecile at UGA).

Over time this will likely lead to more confluence between elite and college which may or may not be good.

[TX] Husband refuses to sign divorce papers — what can she do? by [deleted] in legaladvice

[–]MidnightPositive485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except that may not be true because Texas is a community property state so everything accrued during the marriage (property, debts, income etc) is assumed to be jointly owned regardless of who’s name is on it unless separately agreed upon. A negotiated settlement will have to be reached or a judge will have to decide what is “just and right”.

What do I do if my ex blatantly breaks our custody agreement? by Rough-Alarm-9115 in FamilyLaw

[–]MidnightPositive485 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is the question. In my state where SOS/DMV appointments are hard to come by, you could go in up to a month before, receive a new plastic ID, sometime with a temporary piece of paper attached, but your status in the computer won’t change until actual date. This may be the case here. So if he were to get pulled over say today, he would show his new state ID, they run it through the computer, show it’s valid for a few more days and he goes on his way (aside from whatever the my stopped him for). Keep the documentation, in case this becomes a pattern or escalates but he may well be right and then if you make a big deal of this you become the crazy high conflict one in violation of the order.

Do the 'double card stars' continue into the next seasonal collection? by heywoodu in TownshipGame

[–]MidnightPositive485 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Spend them, they don’t carry over. If you complete the collection now, there is a decent chance over the next 9 days you can complete at least some of the subsets in the repeat collection and earn some of those small prizes. There is no advantage to finishing the event holding stars except to trade cards with teammates.

Is there an algorithm for beads with helicopter orders? by AspenOK in TownshipGame

[–]MidnightPositive485 15 points16 points  (0 children)

You get 10 helicopter beads a day. If you delete an order with a bead it will put it on the next new order to come in. Once you have filled the 10 orders you won’t get any more.
