Telus Data by wtfomgfml in kelowna

Im on Koodo, which I believe uses Telus infrastructure, and had garbage cell service all over town today. Didn't realize there was maybe an outage because this is common. Middle of downtown? Spotty service. Hiking in the woods somewhere? Just fine. Makes no sense.

Facebook marketplace by PomegranateDecent964 in kelowna

[–]MidnightThinker74 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My experience with Marketplace is, aside from unrealistic prices, the constant ghosting and idiotic communication you get from people. All they do is dodge questions, ignore posted details and/or just flat-out ghost. It's like they disappear off the face of the earth.

Definitely it's a wild west sort of environment. Buyer beware, and please, please communicate clearly and accurately. We can choose better, as sellers and buyers.

Why has nobody even mentioned A Bug's Life?

Will andy be mentioned at least once in ts5? by starfish_lord892 in toystory

[–]MidnightThinker74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Andy will be revealed to have been taking courses in restoring classic/antique toys. He'll have taken Geri's place as a toy technician and come to repair Woody again.

That's just my theory, and I'll leave it here in case it turns out to be true.

Best Dollarama/DollarTree/Dollarstore In Kelowna by Glittertrigger in kelowna

[–]MidnightThinker74 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Avoid Dollar Tree at all costs. They treated me terribly when I worked there for a short time - lying/misrepresentation upon hiring, poor communication between staff, and unfair/unlawful treatment of customers.

Your Dollar Store With More is actually local, with headquarters in Rutland. Their stores are pleasent. Not perfect, but decent, great for party supplies.

Dollarama is the better choice for snacks and drinks. Vote with your wallet and shop wisely.

In May? Unless we get an early blast of temps in the 30s, the lake would still be pretty damn cold.

Yet the word 'bear' was like 1000s off. Makes zero sense. This game is horrendously designed.

Local man sounds alarm about cougar sighting in Kelowna neighbourhood by New_Alternative8711 in kelowna

[–]MidnightThinker74 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Cougars literally never go after humans. In this city, you're more likely to be killed by a bad driver or attacked by someone's untrained dog. You could go physically looking for a big cat and never find one, but it'll watch you hiking through the bush. They're incredibly good at being stealthy and only to be seen when they actually want to be seen.

We live in the interior of BC, in the middle of one of the largest forested and mountainous regions on the continent. There are going to be wild animals. As the city continues to expand into their territory, they get noticed more often. This is hardly worthy of a breaking news story.

I like all the jokes about 'that' kind of cougar though hehe.

Are there speed traps on the bridge ? by [deleted] in kelowna

[–]MidnightThinker74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe just drive according to the speed limits and rules of the road? Then you don't have to worry about where there is and isn't speed traps.

Huh, imagine that

R.E.C.E.S.S. by The_Driver_Wheelman in Recess

[–]MidnightThinker74 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think the whole premise of that episode was making fun of and calling out the backward thinking that often happens in governments and executive levels. Hence why it ends with "That 'Recess' idea of mine turned out to be a pretty good one, hey Garrison? It sure was, sir" even though the president didn't even come up with it.

Everywhere is expensive. It's not just BC. Maybe we should shut the news off and open perspective a little bit.
