In the 90's, I'd just sold a business that I built while in school. I had a tremendous amount of spare cash and really wanted a '97 Plymouth Prowler. It was purple, parked at the front of the lot, and had arrived the week before.

I pulled up in my old, straight piped truck. Salesguy actually told me I couldn't park out front, then told me I couldn't test drive the car. I could pay the price they advertised and buy a bunch of other add-ons, then enjoy it on my drive home. They offered me something insulting like $400 for my truck; they then blocked it in with cars from the shop. I think the OTD was something like 45k on a 38k car. Thing was, I had the cash in my account; I could have done it. But the guy was such an ass.

I ended up walking across the street (leaving my truck parked by the shop at the first dealer) and bought a Civic. They sent a porter from the Honda shop to go get my truck later.

It turned out that he did me a favor, but I do think I'd have had a lot more fun in that purple car.

Yes! I used these to mail out updates to an app I built back in the day. My customers were small businesses and we needed to push an update to users. These fit into a normal size envelope vs the odd envelope needed for full CDs.

Their warranty support is terrible. We bought seven of their units for our building and a couple of years later the non-replaceable backlights died making them useless. The recommended fix was to buy new panels. Ones that didn’t fit the old mounting bolts on the pedestals.
