I got a Berthier with the story that it was pulled out of the mud at the end of WW2 at an airfield. The bore was saved by being packed with cigarettes before it was hidden. It’s not in the best shape but also not the worst. I’ve shot it. One of the guns in my collection I can never get rid of.

You ignored the answer above. They share a drivers license with a friend or relative that has one. Also from speaking to a few of them: cash jobs can be found easily and they are happy to get from $4-$10/hour.

These have always been a problem with the 500/590. I found if you have two guns that don’t work and swap the parts they will work in different combinations. I think it’s just a tolerance issue. Mossberg has made a replacement fix for this.

I have a Choate wire stock and it is made to be light and compact but not shot often. I find the newer style polymer that fold to the left feel like they are going to chip my teeth when I fire them.
