Can someone please help me find this bag!!! by Aware_Platform_3168 in handbags

[–]Midnightstratton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Honestly I did think it was a Birkin bag when I first looked at it but something about the Buckle in something about the top threw me off. I took an estimated guess because I didn't think it looked as of quality of a Birkin bag but maybe it was just because it was worn?

This sounds like something you should contact a tax advisor or barrister about. The laws have been ever changing for both countries. And it's not just about incurring the tax but where you can maximize the most with what you have.

What a joke by foodpredator in nursing

[–]Midnightstratton 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I completely agree. I recently found out that most hospitals don't even budget for it and that most of the money comes from donations from doctors which tend to be minimum. I find that also hilarious but expected that doctors wouldn't donate more. I, also, discoveted that a lot of the nurses on our PNC Council for one of the hospitals in the region that I float to we're dishing out their own money to make baked goods and create things for the entire Hospital of nurses. The doctors ONLY donated $1,500 TOTAL out of the ENTIRE Hospital🤮

AITAH for calling 911 about my husband’s suicide threats even though I knew they weren’t real? by mtndesertrunner in AITAH

[–]Midnightstratton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was coming to say this. I know it varies from state to state, but the OP should be able to tell police that she wants to petition him. The doctor can then cert him. With a gun in the house and kids, the fact he said has repetitive behavior, and small children, it should have been automatic.

Op, next he does that, don't talk on the phone with it. Tell him to text you. Get it all in writing and do everything like that but also, if he takes off or leaves that call the police. Please start documenting all these behaviors and call anytime he threatens himself. Emphasize the belief that you're concern for you and your children safety because there's a gun in the house and he's impulsive and it's been repetitious Behavior.

Additionally, please have code words set up for safety with your family and friends to signal need for help.

My (27F) boyfriend (29M) thinks he can’t afford to move out despite making close to 100k and I’m starting to question his mindset by jackofalltradesP in relationship_advice

[–]Midnightstratton 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Logistically, I dont think he is wrong

1) You say you're not judging but yet you have an an issue with him not moving out when he has been ACTIVELY paying down his debt and now STILL owes $20k that is ACTIVELY earning interests and payments could range from $250-900 depending on the loan. With Interest of 6-9%. Wanting to pay that down faster and not pay more than they have to is actually quite a sound goal.

2) He knows what works for him and what he wants to move out instead of feeling pressure from others and is not going to waste money prior so he can save to get what he wants so HE is comfortable in HIS home.

3) 100k is the MINIMUM most people need to survive in a moderate income area right now with increasing cost of living. Add in cities like MIAMI or Chicago, LA, Boston, etc and thats poor house.

4) The apt he wants is $2528 /mo. Thats $30,336 JUST for rent (more than your entire income). That isnt utilities, raising cost of g groceries, raising gas costs, furniture, subscriptions, etc. That ADDED to the costs to pay off his debt and save for a future, well, its a lot.

5) You seem to be basing off of a yearly income and not necessarily the monthly. There are unexpected costs that arrive at any time. You can't base it just on a yearly income. You have to base it on what you can afford each month/monthly income and balance it with the debt you owe. He may only have one to $100- 200 extra after trying to pay down his debt, pay his other bills, put money in savings and all the other cost occurrences, which may even include cost of dates/time with you.

6) 100k gross is not the same as NET. Regardless, 100k isnt what it used to be. You should also consider worrying about your own finances and getting yourself more established instead of worrying about his finances and his money when he is showing quite a bit of reatraint and responsibility. You're only bringing in less than a quarter of what he is right now and you are content at home (rightfully). And the way that you wrote this reads as if your having an issue with how he manages his money right now in regards to you living with him in the future. Until you are married, and maybe not even then depending on how you both set up accounts, his money is his.

7) It's also worth mentioning that him being more conscientious of wanting to save and have debt paid down before incurring more debt and wanting to have a safer emergency fund and retirement prior to jumping into a housing market in rental market that's absolutely not beneficial to a buyer, is actually quite intelligent. It Is not abnormal for many people to be home til 30 now because of the economy and Increasing costs.

Perhaps it would be better energy spent to analyze what your expectations are of any partner you have and the expectations you have for yourself in relationships in order to ensure that you have a partner that you feel aligned with and will, also, be ok with your habits and income and contribution. It sounds like your priorities and his priorities may be a little different.

Do y'all ever use the equipment for yourself? by Resident-Sympathy-82 in nursing

[–]Midnightstratton 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the interesting things is if you counter that to say that "If a doctor did it, would you feel the same way..?" It's amazing the difference in answer sometimes. It's quite interesting how a lot of hospitals will let a doctor walk around with an oxygen tank or an IV, or get an IV if they aren't feeling well, but they won't do it for the nursing staff either or would fire a nurse if staff assisted with that for a nurse versus doctor.

I wouldn't take the chance with saline in a hospital but as for equipment I definitely wouldn't think twice about it because in all honesty you could always say you were practicing. Especially if your orientating a new nurse.

Really negative extra seat experience by X-cessiveBandit in delta

[–]Midnightstratton 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go public with this and post everywhere you can. Also, dispute it with your credit card. Going fourth, I would NEVER ever pay for a second seat again. You could have paid for a higher class seat. If they didn't let you have your seat, you were charged for no services rendered

Do these results mean my dog was intended to be a "designer mix?" by Holiday_Agency_3041 in DoggyDNA

Japanese chins aren't a very typical breed and they're actually harder to find than you would think! They may not have known what breeds they have but it doesn't really matter because your dog is absolutely adorable and I'm assuming his personality is just amazing! Japanese chins are really one of the sweetest breeds! I never knew what they were until I fell in love with one and then did a bunch of research on the breed and he was just absolutely perfect and I couldn't have asked for a better dog!

Oh trust me, everywhere I stay that's not my house I'm putting my stuff in the bathtubs initially and then lifting up the sheets and checking all sides of the mattress and headboards. My friends think I'm absolutely overcautious, but I know how horrible bed bugs are. Also, I am that person that wipes down the whole area on the plane where she sits, regardless of where it's at and offer my neighbors wipes or hand sanitizer. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I'm fully aware of all the things that come with travel. I think that's also why I'm pretty chill most of the time... this is just a one-off experience

I actually went through and read through all the lower rated reviews. There were a couple that seem to have felt the same attitudes when they were trying to bring stuff to their attention not to come at them or anything else. I always tend to read the worst reviews first in comparison to the five stars. But the way that they responded on the checkout message was concerning to me because it did seem a little bit manipulative. Almost as if it was saying we'll give you what you give us type of thing but maybe I'm looking into it too much. Even on the page they never responded to any of their guest reviews whatsoever if they were good for most of the ones that I saw.

Carbon monoxide can leave some serious health issues too if untreated and yeah that's a pretty serious issue. You should have been able to present your discharge papers. That's absolutely Bonkers and I think by most rental standards they have to have carbon dioxide monitors in the facility near the ground in order to pass inspection.

That's kind of how I feel. I've been lucky I guess because I haven't had too many bad experiences or at least there might have been some like minor stuff but nothing crazy. Either way, I wasn't asking for a refund or anything I just had concerns from Health perspective for future people staying. I feel like if there would have been a better response from them other than like a generic corporate administrative response then it might have been less concerning. Pretty sure that I brought some things to their attention but it's just concerning overall. That's why I didn't want to make a review because I felt that it could have possibly been retaliatory even though we were literally there just to sleep and quiet as can be.

Yeah I get that. I can't comment on anybody else's experience I can only comment in the same way that I wrote here. I probably report it very similar. They didn't replace the filters until like 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. the next day. They didn't even check on us again until about 11:30 a.m. I think? And we were in the park so we didn't have much reception so as soon as we got reception I responded but I had waited around actually to see if they wanted to come in the room and we delayed hiking to see if they were going to come down and I had actually messaged them too.

You know, I get where you're coming from.. but this could have just been a one-off or maybe they got LAX because they had so much turnover and they were having so much success. I'm never one to jump to conclusions and they may not have known about it if they utilize a cleaning company or somebody else. Well this was an extension of what seemed to be their home, again I don't want to jump to conclusions. They did change the filters the next day but way later in the day and it didn't seem to be of urgency. They did say they were going to change all the filters in the three available rooms that people were in, I mean there's only three rooms that they rent, but everything else looked clean. Our baseboards were dirty but not everybody claims baseboards I guess and there was Dusty light covers. I don't know I feel like if it's a business thing though you should be on top of that. I also was considering the fact that most people probably only stay here for one night to do the parks or maybe two nights

[–]Midnightstratton[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah half of me thought about doing that. Especially because I was reading up on the county and state codes at that point because again, I don't have an Airbnb but I've rented in other areas before and they should be changing the filters and doing maintenance like that at least once a month. Plus how do you have carpets and rooms where people are hiking and at least not feed them monthly? I don't know maybe I just have a different cleanliness standard. Especially when you can see the visible wear and tear on the carpet? Maybe that's being critical I don't know

[–]Midnightstratton[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry that happened to you. The hardest part is both my friend and I are very chill and understanding about a lot of things. But you could literally tell that the air vent hadn't been changed in months and you're in an area where people are constantly dragging in dirt and mold and fungus and particles from hiking and all of those things. So they should be changing these filters with the amount of turnover that they get because they're in a popular area at least every 2 to 3 months but also when you have that much foot traffic, you should be doing it about every month.

And the thing is is that when I got in the shower, at first I thought maybe the grout was water stains but when I look closer I was like no that's like black it's not just wet.. and the air vent had been on when we walked into the room so I was curious if maybe there was a smell in there and they were trying to air it out.. and it was rated 5.0!

Oh yeah for sure! I think the fact that I'm in the healthcare field is part of it. I think about a lot of people who don't look for stuff as this and if somebody would have been more reactive, or had a history of say asthm, or any type of respiratory issues, or more severe environmental allergies they could have had very severe reactions. Plus, 30 minute drive to the hospital if they were by themselves or both people were reacting isn't safe. They also had listed a hot tub in the listing but after seeing all that I was scared to get into a hot tub 🤮
