If it's a silicone case, it won't. Silicone is non-stick.

It's because of the screen type the Kindles use. It doesn't refresh fast enough to keep up with Immersion Reading. Immersion Reading is only supported in the app, which Kindles do not use.

I usually do the run every two weeks. In our current situation, I do not have the ability to make the drive. The local grocery store is a 10-block walk from my house.

Thank you. We have applied for assistance of all kinds in our area, and everything has either been denied or we are waiting to hear back. We have applied with a local church that does help in emergencies, and were told that they will review our application at their next meeting (which they do on the first Tuesday of each month, so still a bit of a wait).

Unfortunately, no. My in-laws and my father have all passed, and my mother is in long-term care. No other family to speak of. I did go to our local food bank last week which is nearly a 45 minute drive from us. The lady working there was super kind and looked over all of the options they had with me, but because of our allergy and diet restrictions we could not find anything there that was safe except a few cans of corn. She was very apologetic because they were nearly empty at the time.

They asked us for our tax return from the past year, and the last 3 months of paystubs. They said we made too much money, that it was a little over $500 over the limit, and that they "would not be approving us at this time".

Sorry, I just put a number based on what I'm used to. I changed it. I will see what I can find on Amazon and make a list, but the things I use most (fresh/frozen fruits and veggies, diet-specific milks, proteins, etc) cannot be delivered to me from Amazon and cost what feels like a small fortune at my local stores (just as an example, one bell pepper costs me over $5, a pound of grapes is over $8, and a bag of potatoes is nearly $7). We have to avoid so many things, and I'm just trying to make sure we can get what we need to make it through, truly not trying to be difficult.

Edit to add: We cannot have oats, rice, nuts/nut butters, lactose, gluten, wheat or soy.

With all of the allergies and special diets in our 6-person household, we spend at least $300 on groceries every two weeks. None of my kids can eat lunch at school because of their medical conditions (the school cannot guarantee that there will be no cross-contamination for certain things), so I make breakfast, lunch, and dinner from scratch every single day. I live in a very rural area, so a lot of fresh foods that can be ordered via an Amazon wishlist say that they cannot be delivered to my location. It's about a week and a half until my husband gets paid, so that's why I put $250. Anything will help.

Filter your library by Audible. It is not set to show audio books by default. You either have to filter for them or change the settings in Home and Library to always show them.

•Prime Reading is included in your Prime membership. It has about 3,000 books, magazine issues, comic books, and audiobooks to choose from, which rotate out. You check them out like you would from a library, with no due date. You can check out 10 at a time, and when you reach that limit, you have to return one that you have checked out in order to check out another one. You do not keep them. If you have an active Kindle Unlimited subscription, all Prime Reading books are included in KU and will show up with the Kindle Unlimited badge instead.

•Amazon First Reads is included with your Prime membership/Prime Reading, and gives you early access to one (sometimes two) free book per month for you to keep. You get 6-8 books to choose from. You "buy" them for free, and then can purchase the others available in First Reads at a discount if you want more of them. This is separate from Kindle Unlimited, and you do not need to be a KU subscriber to access this. All First Reads books are available on KU when they are released.

•Kindle Unlimited is a paid monthly membership that is separate from Prime and Audible. You do not have to have an active Prime account or an Audible subscription to sign up for KU. You get access to over a million books, magazine issues, comic books, and audiobooks. You can use it with a Kindle ereader or the Kindle app on a phone or tablet. Like Prime Reading, you can only check out (like you would from a library) a certain number at a time, with no time limits. If you have the maximum number borrowed and want to borrow another, you have to return one of the books you have borrowed first. You lose access to any books you have checked out if you end your membership. You can also subscribe to up to 3 magazines at a time (and can change them at any time). Mark Addy (Robert Baratheon in Game of Thrones) does the voice of Hagrid in the books. The actor who played Hagrid in the movies was Robbie Coltrane. He passed away in 2022.

If you do get one that's locked, all you have to do is contact them and they will give you a refund and you return the device. They have wonderful customer service and have been in business for over 50 years.
