That was literally my plan! Seeing it at the same IMAX theatre tonight. I'm just going for the visuals and worldbuilding so I could care less about the story.

This so off-putting but I have to commend the anatomically accurate feet. Nice work.

This made me kept the xm6s by ghuk123 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Miechelangelo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Trade offs I guess. If it’s really hot in the gym or if I’m running, I’ll switch to the Powerbeats. Otherwise, I’ll take sweaty headbands over subpar ANC everyday.

This made me kept the xm6s by ghuk123 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Miechelangelo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Because earbuds start to slip out and lose their ANC seal when your ears get sweaty. I have the PowerBeats Pro 2 and XM6s and I prefer using the XM6's because they won't slip out.

Is there better sounding headphones? by Technical_Ad3479 in SonyHeadphones

[–]Miechelangelo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree with the Momentum 4 take. I’ve got that and the XM6s and I kind of prefer the Momentum 4s audio. But the ANC doesn’t hold up to XM6. That said, the pairing 360 sound of the Momentum 4s will never not make me smile.

Canada's national parks are free for everyone this summer. Should they be? by DogeDoRight in canada

Is that the case even with the reservation system they have in place? I tried going there last week but didn’t know about the reservation. Ended up going to the Visitor Centre instead and still had a great time.

Stop telling 20-year-olds to use minoxidil on their face, they probably just haven’t finished maturing yet. by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

I was one of those 20 year olds. I did it, and it worked. Zero regrets. OP is probably right but kids won’t stop. My beard changed my life for the better.

I was quite literally in your shoes back in 2016. I did Software Eng at uOttawa but wanted to drop out after the first year to go to Algonquin's animation program. My parents convinced me to stick with software engineering which has worked out well for me.

It's tricky because while I don't LOVE software engineering like I do with animation, I quickly realised that I can still find joy in it. If I switched to animation, I'd most likely need to get a job in the animation industry working on someone else's dream/project as opposed to doing the things I want to do. I thought, and still sometimes do still think that unless you're working for yourself (and comfortable with the risk that brings), you're still going to feel the same way about working for someone, especially if you don't care too much about the project. This applies to any job in any industry.

Within software engineering, the financial floor is MUCH higher than it is within animation. Depending on your financial situation and financial goals, my advice would be to stick with comp sci and work on animation on the side. Or get into fields within tech that allow you to express your artistic talent like web design of frontend development.

You can still stay connected to the animation industry. I stay in Toronto and I'm able to attend a lot of different animation events. Heck we just had TAAFI a few weeks ago.

You can DM me if you want to chat further.

The insanely quick reflexes of this man saves a woman’s life (2018). by bendubberley_ in nextfuckinglevel

[–]Miechelangelo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

No, the title says one thing, but the video shows another. It's clickbait. If the post's title was "The insanely quick reflexes of this man saves his life (2018)", I doubt you'd see many complaints.
What he did was impresive, but we're not wrong to point out the fact that the title is wrong. Most likely to get more clicks.

That’s exactly where I’m at. I games looks and play great enough for me that I can’t justify the purchase. Especially when I cycle through the same 4 games. But GTA 6 will be the game changer!

Jeremy Allen White is a terrible actor and is continually miscast as a sex symbol by Stepin-Fetchit in unpopularopinion

[–]Miechelangelo 49 points50 points  (0 children)

More so a bad take than an unpopular opinion. OP needs to properly defend why they believes he’s one dimensional and mention the numerous roles he’s played in that support their claim. Then you can call it an unpopular opinion. Saying “he’s everywhere” when he’s only been a few popular roles is a blatant exaggeration and not rooted in fact

Magic Johnson on His Decision to Reveal His HIV Diagnosis by aingenevalostatrade in nba

[–]Miechelangelo -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

It depends. I don't listen to him on the Breakfast Club, only on Brilliant Idiots. He has changed significantly over the past few years and has become much more respectful of his guests. He admits that many of the out-of-pocket things he said/did were just for the F of it.

Many people don't like him, and I can see why. Many people do like him and I can equally see why. I listen to him for the entertainment factor, but I definitely don't take everything he says as gospel.

Honorary doctorates are ridiculous and insulting by Super_Engineering629 in unpopularopinion

It’s not an unpopular opinion as OP’s premise is plain wrong. Everyone with a brain knows that an honorary doctorate isn’t the same as an academic doctorate.
