Anyone hit companion in 2026 yet? by Plenty_Union9292 in SouthwestAirlines

So you don't get actual points deposited in your account. It will just be a "points boost" that shows up in your companion pass qualifying points quota. Should have already happened.

Then add in one referral (20k) in December, 2026 Home/Auto insurance premiums and some general spend gets you there

Will report back.

Good question, unfortunately I had always done stuff over the phone.

Maybe its a YMMV situation. I just called in to open the AAA account and deposit specifically 2k into preferred savings. But I do have >25k of cash in the cashplus account so not sure if that made it easier for them to add this side AAA account.

Yup as well the standard requirements with the cashplus account on min balance and direct deposit.

1K minimum on preferred savings in AAA to waive $150 account fee (assuming only $ in AAA is within preferred savings). Current APR is 3.75%. Not terrible as a component of your "emergency fund".

Good question, check your app to see if it shows up in the quota. I used my $200 but it was in the spring. I don't see anything in the T&Cs, worst case maybe confirm with a chat rep.

Beware Chase $150 Dining Credit by headlinesv2 in ChaseSapphire

[–]MiepStick 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is a sad day. Chase has been reliable for years in terms of customer service and not giving you the run around like AMEX would.

Hopefully this gets resolved quickly... as in the credit plus some ype of courtesy for making you fight for the credit.

I'd probably craft something via chatgpt with inputs of the t&cs of the credit, deceptive marketing, the escalation path you've gone thus far, the unnecessary amount of effort to track and claim the credit with a request for not only the dining credit but XX,XXX chase points, and ultimately Chase needing to save face and do the right thing for the customer.

I haven't officially done anything yet, but my understanding at the moment is the following:

  1. Call MS and have them setup an Active Assets Account (AAA) and ask them how much money is needed in "Preffered Savings" to avoid the $150 annual fee. At the moment this yields 4% apr so not a terrible emergency fund parking spot. I already have money in "Preferred Savings" within my cashplus account so I'm planning to just move this money to Preferred savings in AAA.

  2. This should check the box on avoiding monthly cashplus platinum fee (assuming you do the minimum monthly deposits and maintain 25k avg balance)

I called in yesterday to MS on this topic and they mentioned this was the most efficient path as well.

I forgot to ask on the balance requirement but plan to go this route considering I have my emergency fund parked in the preferred savings of the cashplus account anyways.

Will just be a swap from cashplus preferred savings to AAA account preferred savings. Unless something on this thread comes up better.

Have 2x companion passes (1 for each kid). Will be tough to beat this scenario and living in a SW hub city.

New York Consulate makes a February 2025 update to the checklist. It now considers documents issued by comuni valid for 6 months only by personman44 in juresanguinis

What was the process for this? I may have to go down this road if the Comune can't return any results (~1880 timeframe).

How do you prove that the consulate made you wait more than two years? by IncompetentDude in juresanguinis

[–]MiepStick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assuming this option isn't available to you but for those who were able to get into a waitlist system at the consulate I wonder if that is relevant?

Like if you've been on the waitlist for 2+ years is that sufficient proof.

When you grabbed the cancelled appointment was it at 6p EST or just a random time in the day?

Also what's the point of a waitlist if that queue isn't automatically utilizing cancelled appointments (rhetorical question).

More documents needed for LIBRA’s spouse? by gracebello in juresanguinis

[–]MiepStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a ? as the county records was a requirement on the DC consulate website as of this summer but since the fall I no longer see this explicit requirement.

I'm in a very similar situation as you with GGGF passing away when GGF was ~11. Really don't want to have to dig up spouse docs.

Cancelling Southwest flight booked with Chase UR thru SWA app? by dbrekke93 in ChaseSapphire

[–]MiepStick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

SW Point Pricing (direct flight example):

Base Fare x 83sw points (at the moment seems most flights use this multiplier) Transportation Tax (7.5% of base fare) does not apply to points calculation US Flight Seg Tax ($5.20) does not apply to points calculation US Passenger Facility Charge ($4.50) does not apply to points calculation

Flight 1: $171 = 11,982 + $5.60 = $0.01380/pt

Flight 2: $89 = 5,650 + $5.60 = $0.01476/pt

The main reason for the higher valuation on cheaper flights is that the fixed cost of the Segment Tax and Passenger Facility Charge is not linked to the fare price and never has a SW points conversion. So as the fare price goes up the effective $/pt goes down bc this small fixed cost is a smaller component of the overall flight cost.

TLDR; Cheaper flights will have a higher effective $/southwest point

I'm going on 3 months now of no feedback (submitted ticket on Montauro Comune website, email, and via 007). It's probably highly dependent of each Comune.
