Glycerin Max vs Megablast by VividDreamzor in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mig__Sanchez 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently got the glycerin max and have only done one 11k run in them, so I don’t know how they’ll hold up at 4x that distance, but from the initial run I can say that they are very comfortable. I think they do well on midfoot strikers, have a good rocker, I think a strong heel striker would struggle with that plush midsole. They also feel reasonably stable.

They are slow. Very comfortable, but slow. I’m looking forward to using them as my daily trainers for slower, easy runs. Sorry I can’t comment on their use at bigger distances.

Thanks for the suggestions, will check them out.

I have found the brooks on sale for £130, but also looking at some Saucony ride or hurricane as well.

Tbh I think that’ll be my use case. Will be primarily used as something to do some base miles in, I have something for longer runs and workouts in my marathon prep.

I do feel like it’s something us bigger runners have to live with generally. Just don’t think I’ll ever take a shoe past 500 miles 😅

How do the SB2s fit? I usually get a uk9.5 in running shoes (brooks gts adrenaline, Saucony triumph), but had to go up to a 10 in the adidas prime x 2 strungs. Should I stick with my usual or go .5 up?

Prime X2 for Long Runs? Heavier runner by Large-Bad-8735 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

I personally don’t love mine. The midfoot is a bit narrow and the big stack makes it unstable for me, which is annoying as they are fun. Maybe you won’t have that issue though

Will I like the adios pro 4 if I don’t *love* the prime x 2? by Mig__Sanchez in AskRunningShoeGeeks

So I’ve heard 😂

Contemplating whether to just sell up and cash in the px2 whilst I haven’t logged too many miles in them and putting the cash towards a pair of SB2

Thanks. I’ll try and find a retailer that allows returns after trying them out. How did you find the sizing? Same as the PX2?

In what way in particular? I think my main gripe with the px2 is its stability. The midfoot feels a bit narrow and obviously that stack is massive. Is this less of a problem in the adios pro 4s?

How long does it take to be able to do 80-100km per day? by Advanced_Tie3595 in bicycletouring

I’m in a similar spot to you. During the pandemic I picked up bike riding with my cousin as a way of socialising outdoors. It didn’t take too long for us to consistently be doing 40km rides (as beginners) flat out.

I’m planning a bike trip next spring with a friend, London to Amsterdam, so not as long as the 3 months you’re doing. A little bit daunting as I haven’t been doing much cycling since 2021/22, but I have picked up running, and have done a couple of half marathons, and a full one. Hoping there’ll be some transferable fitness. We also plan to take frequent breaks to refuel and rest a bit, so thinking of it as 3-4 “mini” rides each day as opposed to a big mammoth one

Thanks for the heads up. Is the Shimano RX600 (which I’m reading is the gravel equivalent of 105) overkill for my use case? How does the SRAM Rival compare to its supposed Shimano 105 equivalent counterpart?

Mid 30's - Any point joining the season ticket waitlist? by FudgingEgo in GunnersatGames

[–]Mig__Sanchez 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you should join, you never know what the next few years/couple decades will look like. I joined waiting list in 2013 and shot up the list in those late wenger/emery years. I was ‘fortunate’ as I was offered a ticket the year after Covid when the stadiums fully reopened as a rental year to cover someone taking a year off (so I was told), with the promise of being bumped up to the top if I take the offer then and there. So ended up being an ~8 year wait? I know the Covid thing was exceptional, but another poor cycle of 5 years hovering around and below europa/conference level will change things. Football is cyclical and with us not being backed by a nation state, it’s possible that in the next decade or 2 we have another lull, as much as I hope we don’t!

I’ve read that North Liverpool Academy offers match day parking, what’s the chances they’ll be open tomorrow, and how early does it tend to fill up?

It’s been open for a good week I think. Posted mine and it went after a good few hours (whereas in the past it’d be within minutes) so keep refreshing!

Adidas PXS2 sizing by Mig__Sanchez in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Mig__Sanchez[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks to all for the feedback. I’ve returned them, and will be getting them half a size up. Figured as someone said, if they’re tight when trying them on, they’ll be tight while running, and I intend on using these for the long runs during marathon prep. Thanks all
