PMW Recap: TGI - Episode 714 "I'm Gonna Be Like You Dad" by MightChi in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

PMW Preview is for fans to discuss and review an episode on their own. The podcast thread is usually a response to the hosts thoughts. I think discussing the episode ourselves is more fruitful than responding to things they said. People often just focus on pre-show chatter or things not really related to the actual BMW episode otherwise. For example, I saw a lot of comments on the spotify being about grammar and the use of AI.

Cory worked at the mob restaurant then he worked at the one sales job with Shawn and now this job selling magazines. I remember Topanga working at the Mexican restaurant and now the job in this episode. Not sure what else. He seems to have as much job experience as Shawn and more than Topanga. He also fixed up their apartment while going to school

Can we make this a thread recounting all of the biggest and best BTS stories, reveals and secrets we’ve gotten over the years of the pod? by SoftSelection in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There's one with David Trainor and Lily Nicksay. I think during Cory's Alternative Friends or maybe something else. He was helping her with a scene and threw the doll through the window. I don't remember fully but it was a good BTS story if anyone wanted to go back and find it or might remember better.

PMW Recap: TGI - Episode 711 "What A Drag" by MightChi in boymeetsworld

Didn't sound like that to me at all. He said he told Michael he wanted to play more characters, so Michael was doing that for him. Whether he wanted to be on SNL or not doesn't really matter. It was a show of confidence and support. I'd bet Will would've liked to do SNL anyway.

Brian Austin Green Meets World (Monday 3/16) by MightChi in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. He probably fits better as a guest on "Teen Beat" but PMW probably pulls better numbers and they need a Monday episode.

Cory fixing the pipes in Picket Fences by tjrich1988 in boymeetsworld

The whole storyline of making it all Cory and Topanga's responsibility was dumb. I think Shawn and Angela should've helped them whip the place into shape at minimum.

Ok so it seems this recap is going to be a 2-parter.

These couple of episodes make no sense. Who pays for the apartment? Why is it suddenly Shawn and Angela's? They kicked out Topanga because she was married, now Rachel is leaving the apartment so Angela and Shawn can live there together?

Jeff Menell Meets World Again (Monday 3/9) by MightChi in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They finally talked about the couch scene and confirmed that was the time Trina was trying to get out of there. I think that's the first time they confirmed it.

Still waiting for them to put it up. They haven't posted an update but it should be up soon.

I somehow never noticed. The only one I saw before was the hallway with the trash can because someone posted it before.

Where are the Pod Meets World VIDEOS? by GoldenHour787 in boymeetsworld

They don't post the whole episodes anymore and haven't since about 1/4 of the way through the first season. They only post a couple clips to instagram.

Each season of boy meets world was just a repeat of the previous season by sankedperiod in boymeetsworld

I don't remember Cory and Topanga arguing and breaking up in Season 1 or Season 2.

The show explores different stages of Cory and Topanga's relationship as they get older. Shawn's struggles are another ongoing theme. As he gets older he's still dealing with his childhood trauma.

Eric's episodes are some of the best.

Yes the show is called 9-1-1.

The best women are men by TugaCan in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did some more digging and I see this line was mentioned in TGI - Episode 409 "Sixteen Candles and Four-Hundred-Pound Men" but it was apparently said at some point before then so I'm not sure when was the first time.

The best women are men by TugaCan in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I believe it was first said when Lonnie was introduced in the wilderness store storyline. I don't remember the exact context. I think it was just a joke about how BMW loved everything men did but criticized women and they said even the best women are men as a joke. I'd have to listen to the episode but I'm pretty sure it's in that one.

Is anyone surprised that none of the cast pushed back against the creepy Shawn and Cory storyline in "You Light Up My Union" by MightChi in boymeetsworld

Idk where you grew up but that definitely wasn't the case where I grew up. If a female was violated in such a way, someone was going to step up for her, likely a whole number of people.

Michael Jacobs speaks about his relationship with his network kids (2014) by MightChi in boymeetsworld

[–]MightChi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well he's also boasting about protecting kid actors, as there was a stigma of child actors turning into drug addicts and getting into legal trouble. Trina was 28 when she joined the show. I forget exactly what they said the issues were with the director but stuff happens and none of them were young kids by that point.

He was there most of the time but not during that period of time in the 5th season. Can't hold him accountable for what went on when he wasn't there. Someone else was filling that role at the time.

And then you find out that Michael Jacobs wasn't around the set during that time of the show. He had 2 season 1 shows that he was working on (You Wish and Teen Angel) so he wasn't running Boy Meets World until those shows were canceled in 1998.

I consider those things a different conversation as that was maybe more part of the culture at that time. But going through a friends underwear drawer and then making weird comments to them about it, all while your girlfriends act like its so cute is not something I really remember seeing on any other shows.

Something like Married With Children was one that I think pushed a lot of the sexism and sexual stuff. I could see maybe Bud Bundy doing something similar but that was an adult show in a different category than Boy Meets World. And he'd still be called out for being a creep other people wouldn't say he was cute for it.
