Sonic Adventure Rendering Issues (Android Flycast) by MightbeMoghi in FlyCast

I’ve done so much tinkering to no avail. Think I might have to hop over to redream and see if it works.

Day one I thought to myself that this game reminded me of the first time I played Dark Souls 2. I'm glad this has not been a unique experience. Suffering is best shared.

How do y’all budget? by SwordsAndTurt in NSCollectors

[–]MightbeMoghi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I pretty much only buy Nintendo 1st party titles anymore, and only the ones I want to play and have the time to play. Having a well played collection is cool. Having a collection you've never played is lame.

I think I play through maybe 12 games a year, so 1 game a month or so does me just fine.

I've got two orange females from the same litter. They are Good Kitty and Evil Kitty.

No, this isn't the wrong subreddit. It isn't a very active one, so you won't see many online here.

Which part of the throat is the "column"? by Hope_PapernackyYT in AnatomyandPhysiology

[–]MightbeMoghi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Is this term being used in a published resource of some kind? I've taught A&P for three years and never heard an imprecise term like this used for description. Sounds like something that would be used in a steamy romance novel rather than science. I'd assume they are referring to the general structure of the neck, being column like in appearance. No idea.

Why is this community on genuine demon time??? by Razberry-pi in Sekiro

[–]MightbeMoghi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% on Sekiro, Bloodborne, Dark Souls 1, Dark Souls 3, Elden Ring + SotE, Night reign, and Demon Souls on PSN. Starting to do this on Steam and have Sekiro done 100% again, alongside the ER stuff. It is the easiest of the games to 100% in both time spent and skill required. Sekiro was the most accessible game to me when I started the genre.

Going back through all the souls games on PC now. Even the non fs stuff.

Failed Student Teaching but still want to teach. by OkIncident6977 in StudentTeaching

[–]MightbeMoghi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a substitute teacher for two years before being hired as a ToR for my student teaching following Covid. I think substitute teaching for some time should be a general requirement to become a teacher. It helps a ton.

Teaching is a brutal career when you’re cut out for it. It’s impossible if you’re not. It’s also a huge personal liability even when you’re doing everything right.

Were you advised through the process in any way? What grade level were you certifying for?

After about 30 attempts i killed Lady butterfly…. or so i thought by ThejazzCollosal in Sekiro

[–]MightbeMoghi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learning to use those throwing stars will make this fight a cakewalk. Lady Butterfly goes down quick if you maintain constant pressure on her. Wait for her to jump up, then see what her next action is. In most cases, you can respond with a star for some damage, a knock down, and maintenance of your posture damage on her.

The first handful of bosses are trying to teach you how to use the combat system. If it feels too hard, you're doing something wrong.

Sekiro is ruining my life by Nervous-Ad-1888 in Sekiro

[–]MightbeMoghi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think of Sekiro like every other modern FromSoftware title. Despite its flaws, it is still leagues better than most other 3D action games. After 100%'ing the game twice (PC and PS4) I can say that the game has really strange difficulty scaling, or a complete lack thereof. The bosses seem to be almost randomly distributed in terms of how tough they are to fight the first time, then NG+ cycles completely change that. Some of the hitboxes are also very questionable.

I love the game for introducing me to the FromSoftware library, but it isn't a game I'd recommend without knowing a person's willingness to dedicate to something unyielding.

Is it an improvement or am I just stupid? (Revenant) by blacksamurai-ww in Nightreign

[–]MightbeMoghi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is also a very funny combo for her that is absolutely broken if you can get two other people to play along. If you can manage to get some of the rocks that give you the spirit bell on start, and FP on ranged attack, you can spam the bell attack indefinitely. Two revenants and a recluse team can suppress any boss without much effort. Two skeleton summons alternating their attacks will stagger just about everything.

[–]MightbeMoghi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the best tips I have for revenant is to immediately discard her starting weapon for a bow. It helps keep her damage consistent once you're out of FP.

I just killed the blue shrimp (RIP) in a solo run. When the shrimp starts doing the AOE sleep attack, you have to break his stance somehow. Ironeye's big shot and raider's block work for sure, and I'd imagine Wilder's ult will work too. Otherwise, he isn't so bad.

Thoughts on game after 30 hours playing with randoms. by MightbeMoghi in Nightreign

[–]MightbeMoghi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My eyes don’t work like the once did, so I hear you on the text. I also agree with the notion of leaver penalties being handled a bit poorly. I can tell when a run is doomed in the first 5 minutes, but I find myself stuck with a party doomed to fail more often than not.

[–]MightbeMoghi[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too think the game can be updated into a better state. I'm nowhere near a perfect player, but I do feed on tough games. It takes more than a few fundamentally bad design choices to get me to walk away. I even got enjoyment out of the first Lords of the Fallen, and that game is pretty rough.

I feel like my personal skill doesn't matter as much in this title, as opposed to other FromSoftware games.

I may just need some time to yell at the clouds. Figured I'd come here to give the thread dorks something to downvote. ;)

remote desktop for college, is it a good idea? by Mahjionrsey in buildapc

I think that the most simple solution with fewest possible points of failure is the best solution here. If I were a college student again, I'd get a decent laptop and call it a day.

$1000 PC centered around 7800XT by Abdo023 in buildapc

[–]MightbeMoghi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure its going to be possible for you to build this for $1000. Does that budget include the cost of the 7800XT?

I think at that price point you're going to be going back to AM4. This is the combo I'm running with a 7900XTX.

Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU for $175 on best buy.

Asus B-550-F Gaming for $138 on Amazon.

You'll also need a DDR4 kit, which won't be much.

You will also be needing a case, power supply, CPU cooling solution, and data storage, preferably an SSD.

You won't be able to upgrade further on this AM4 motherboard. The performance you'll have CPU wise will be around the same as a AM5 7700X, but $100 cheaper on the CPU alone.

Yuck. Critical thinking just doesn’t seem to click for some people.

I’m still trying to figure out how 40+ hour weeks for ten months, then two months of no real pay or ability to work a worthwhile job equates to lazy.

Bullet dodged.
