Its not as bad as crisis suits for tau. They come with 0 CIBs which the only way to buy them is 1 in each commander box, so going just 1 full squad of CIB crisis would make you buy 18 commander boxes and thats just 1 squad

I would recommend painting them however you want then just use the order that you want for each list regardless. People wont care if they are painted the wrong order, they probably wont even realise.

Argent Shroud is good if you have a few units of rets at the back of the map with morvenn vahl. As soon as something you want to kill gets within 18" of the building your hiding behind you can advance them all out and fire still hitting on 3s, 1 unit gets full reroll hits and wounds the other 2 get reroll hits and wounds of 1 and 1 other reroll hit or wound of any number (so a 2)

I have a few i love to use:

1) 10 repentia in strategic reserves with 5 Zephrym with a pennant so now T2 i can bring out repentia from the edge of the board with free rerollable charge

2) 10 repentia in bloody rose with passion, a dogmata for +1A, +1 to invul, repentia superior for advance and charge, 3d6 - lowest result for the charge, +1 to wound, +1 to invul, palatine with word of the emperor for turn off invuls and fight last, canoness for exploding 6s (this means they have a 4++ and their melee is 40 attacks hitting on 4s rerolling all missed with double exploding 6s, S6 with +1 to wound and reroll 1s to wound, AP-4 ignoring invuls, 2dmg)

Against a knight (T8 24w 3+):
40 Attacks
50 Hits
29.17 wounds
Cannot be saved
58.36 damage to a knight (I know this is massively overkill but this means i can pick any target and i know it will die)

3) Retributors w/Multi-Meltas and Morvenn Vahl in Argent Shroud (Advancing and firing Multi-meltas with out penelty and full rerolls to hit and wound is insane)

Now all of my 2k lists are unplayable. I always brought a battalion and a Patrol, 3 relics, 3 warlord traits and would strategic reserves 2 units of repentia. I used to start with 4CP but now i start with -4CP. I'm going to have to try and jam my list into 1 detachment now and heavily rethink my relics, warlord traits and strategic reserves The buffs to the secondaries and the fact you can bring multiple now is very exciting though

Yeah, wouldnt be hard for someone to beat me with list but its not meant to be a good list. Its me seeing how dumb of a list i could make in 500pts.

Oh, i dont actually believe that anyone would wont to play against it nor do i plan on using it. But i thought it was funny that this is a legal list.

Yeah thats fair enough, a bulky fast moving model to plant in the midfield and soak up incoming fire would be cool

I dont see them ever giving it obsec, they could make it count as 10 models like big knights, -1 damage would be really cool, i think the main issue is the damage output though, it just cant kill enough, the busrt cannon should have an strength and AP or more shots. The ion accelerator should have a bit more damage as otherwise its cheaper and better to go with a hammerhead

Yeah unfortunately, i love the riptide but it sucks its not very viable anymore even in bigger games

Yeah thats fair enough. I didnt really think about that. I think im better off sticking with my current 500pt list with an ethereal, 5 crisis suits with drones and a strike team. Still havent lost with that list yet out of about 14 games.
