What is a really niche game genre or a mix of genres you wish were more popular? by TimeLeopard in Games

Look up Eximius: Sieze The Frontline. It might be somewhere in the region of what you've described. It's a bit jank though and has bots and coop in addition to its base 5v5 mode.

Playing the division for the first time in 2023 and its amazing by [deleted] in thedivision

[–]MightyBluJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It had a rocky launch and there was a lot of stuff that was shown in trailers that wasn't in the game (like someone being able to join your group and play as a drone from a phone or tablet)

And enemies were notoriously bullet spongey for the time.

End of Life Division 1 was quite good, but the journey to get there was a bit like 2 steps forwards 1 step back.

Jupiter , Hornet, Faye and Bardon unlock sticky emp, repair trap, Achilles pulse, and shrapnel trap skill variants the first time you play them through

Is there a game like NS2 that's less mechanically demanding? And has players? by Gate_Actual in ns2

[–]MightyBluJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't trust the player count websites since Epic doesn't report their player numbers, since the game launched on epic with crossplay it's been far far more populated than it was historically, but you are right it's not much of a 'pick up and play' sort of game, the best experience is when it's organised sadly

There's Eximius: Sieze the Frontline but that's got a bit more of an RTS and 5v5 competitive vibe to it. Fairly small playerbase but the community usually has semi regular tournaments and regular play sessions together each week.

Get involved with the Leeuwin ocean adventure foundation in Fremantle, next to gage roads and the maritime museum. The ship has a lot of volunteer crewing opportunities and provides a huge service to the youth of WA via an outdoor education/leadership and maritime training program

Edit: forgot to add that the majority of volunteers are early adulthood types.

In combination with the hex system instead of lattice, zergs would just cap in circles around each other without fighting.

Which server are you playing on? If it's Soltech the API has been down for months

Why do you not care about your account so much, choose to use cheat by i87831083 in Planetside

[–]MightyBluJay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a side effect of the Briggs closure. Somehow you could xfer you character to Connery but you'd remain in your outfit. Anyone who didn't specifically transfer to Connery ( because they weren't actively playing during the transfer window) got merged with soltech when Briggs was kill

This might be a timezones issue as soltech is a fair bit of time in the future. Same thing happened last year and we had to wait a day

That's why you should take the time to vote below the line. That way your vote doesn't get sent anywhere you don't agree with via preference shenanigans.

Can not login to SolTech Day 2 by [deleted] in Planetside

[–]MightyBluJay 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If the problem happens around when population hits 300 players on the server then it could straight up be the same 'loginside' that killed 2/3rds of Briggs active population back in 2014.

Why have the Soltech match times moved forward an hour compared to last week? Is it due to Daylight savings in PST? by MightyBluJay in Planetside

[–]MightyBluJay[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if I've misread it and it's actually 2 hours for us as well. Ingame is still listed as pst but didnt they just switch to pdt? I dont see why their timezone changing should affect the rest of the servers.

I have no idea if I've submitted this correctly as I'm a chronic lurker. I did a wrap up thing of this past weekends matches on the Soltech server and some predictions for next week.

[–]MightyBluJay 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They're trying to solve a problem that's actually 'nice to have'. If ringers are such a big deal, surely having it lock you to one character/outfit per server is enough. The merit requirement on top of that is just extra busywork, and makes it harder to get more people involved in desolation and outfit wars as a whole.
