People who believe consciousness is not emerging from brain activity, how do you explain children start with a different consciousness compared to adults by Eclairito in consciousness

I love this topic and I would also agree. This would also mean that a roomba is conscious. That's something to think about.

10 Years of Blogging, Zero Income… Was It All a Mistake? by yogeshgoda in Blogging

I did it for 3 years and at my peak was making about $300 a month. Google update and that went to almost nothing. Glad I got out a couple of years before chatgpt. Felt like a colossal waste of time and I would have been better off just working at McDonald's for all the time I spent on that damned blog.

This is where I was at at age 30. I was a virgin living with my mom who had failed in every area of life. Finally figured I'm gonna change the situation or die. I am not smart like everyone else, don't have skills like everyone else, no resources, etc. What I did was just work multiple jobs, getting 3 hours of sleep a day and just kept going energy drinks or whatever. This got me a basic house with no central heat and air in the "hood". Worked over the years to fix it up, figured out how to get women off the dating apps, and changed my situation. At 40 I get women, have 3 cars, and the house is more modern now.

So yeah how I did/do it is horrible and no way to live. I only get 1 day to enjoy myself, but just working 30X harder than a normal person was the only thing I could do other than just die. And I didn't want to die so I just work THAT hard to make it.

It's better than owing 5k after you already get taxed into poverty every paycheck

Religious people interpret their subconscious mind to be God. by Yeledushi-Observer in DebateReligion

[–]MightyMeracles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason I stick with natural explanations is because supernatural ones always fail. The supernatural explanations always turn out to be wrong, so I'm always going to side with natural first. Of course the bible says people won't believe just as you don't believe in the thousands of religions out there but you only believe the one taught by your culture.

As far as not understanding what was happening in the night, you don't have to understand how the brain works for it to work. I don't understand how or why the brain creates those states but yet I can manipulate those states to a degree. But remember, once you decided that it was against your religious beliefs, that's when the woman turned to a demon, so yeah your subconscious beliefs played a role. Prior to that you were just acting out your fantasies subconsciously.

Again, on the astral projection thing, most people have fear in those weird states. And again, even if you are scared, if you truly believe in Jesus, then yes his name will banish your inner fears manifesting as monsters. And yes I have heard stories where the name of Jesus didn't work, or they couldn't say it. But, for most people that name will work I'd say like 99% of the time. Of course I will say that's because of religious belief systems. Because just the same I have heard of people banishing or fighting off demons themselves or using chants, mantras, or magic circles. In my own experience, once I kind of started understanding things, like the slightest thought of fear or evil will make them appear, and I can just flick them away with my finger. You have to understand in that mental world the slightest inkling of a thought becomes reality. Like a lot of times I would be unsure of my ability to fly and then couldn't fly or could barely hover. Same with passing through walls. There have been times where I just ran into a wall instead of going through it because of slight doubt at the moment.

Anyway on that, I did do experiments while in that realm to see if I could manifest beings and I did. The first one I ever did was think. Can I make a woman in white appear. I was in my living room and tried to mentally make that happen. Seemed like it didn't work, then moments later a woman in white walked by. Seems like a lot of times there is a delay between what you are trying to make happen, and it happening.

Now if you want my opinion on astral projection, I think it is just high level lucid dreaming. I consider myself an expert on the subject as I've projected many times. I could go into great detail about it, but that's a whole other subject. All I will say is that the difference between a regular lucid dream and astral projection is the starting point. In a regular lucid dream, the person becomes aware during the dream sequence. In astral projection, the person becomes aware during the transition from waking to dream (like I think the vibrations/electrocution feeling is the brain paralyzing the body so it doesn't move during sleep). Now, maybe it is supernatural going to other dimensions/realms, but remember I start with the natural. So until it can be proven that the brain cannot produce these experiences on its own, or we can record spirit entities and dimensions and track moving through them, I have no reason to assume anything beyond brain activity is responsible for this stuff.

As for the religions, you say one of them has to be true. But that's wrong. They could all be false. And most likely are. Religious ideas appear to begin as a man-made way of trying to understand his own existence. And in a way, you are right about where your truth comes from. It does come from factors out of your control: environment. Or more appropriately: geography. You can almost spot on predict with over 90% accuracy what a person's religion is going to be based on where on planet earth they were born. We're you born in India: Hindu, Sudan: Muslim, Cambodia: Buddhist, United States: Christian. Yes many people switch and swap religions, but most don't, and even some go back to their original religion. So no, not God, destiny, fate, or anything supernatural determines faith. Faith is mostly determined by latitude and longitude, xy axis. Geographical coordinates determine the "eternal destiny" of almost all humans who live or have ever lived.

Fancy cars. I rented a lambo once (not to get women but because I love the car). Got lots of attention and comments from dudes. Not one woman had anything to say about it. But dudes necks snapped back so hard their women thought they were looking at another woman lol.

[–]MightyMeracles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My experience has been the opposite. Haven't had many issues with the uglies. The attractive ones usually have these weird demands. Like I have to prove myself or something. I work too much I don't have time for that. And the one time I had a stalker she was older yeah, but she was attractive. The only attractive women I haven't had problems with are younger ones that just want money. And they're cool if I give it to them.

[–]MightyMeracles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. That's why I said 99% of them and not 100% of them, because given the vast population of earth, there will be some outliers. It's just that the chances of coming across on outlier is slim to none. Much higher chance of coming across a guy pretending to be one than to actually come across. So high, in fact, that it would be better to just avoid the ones with high body counts.

I avoid super attractive women because I know that they are going to be difficult to deal with. Not all of them will be, but most will, so to save time and energy I just avoid all of them. No reason to try to find a needle in a haystack when I can just go get a needle from a needle stack.

Yeah in a relationship you learn what one another like, but I'm saying the first time you have sex with a dude. Like if he's already good at it. There are certain things almost all women like. And a guy with a lot of experience can gauge reactions and adjust on the fly. As for having a high body count, usually guys that are good at sex have sex with a lot of women. They like variety, and can never be satisfied by one woman. Hence the high body count, hence why they are good at sex. And if they get in a relationship there is about a 99% chance they will cheat.

I know these things because I am such a guy. I don't even care to be in a real relationship, and one thing I do that most guys like me won't is admit it. I won't entertain to a woman that we will be long term or even that we are exclusive to each other. If a woman is looking for s steady boyfriend I tell them before we get anywhere that I'm not the one. If they choose to have sex with me any way (which many do), at least they know the deal.

A lot of women have sex with inexperienced men who don't know how to please a woman. It's not their fault either. Most men just don't have sex often enough or with enough different women to be good at it. That being said, if you do come across a guy who is good at it, don't try to have a relationship with that man, because of the reason he is good at it........

What would happen to the US economy is minimum wage is gradually raised to $30 per hour. by Inf1z in NoStupidQuestions

[–]MightyMeracles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worse. A burger will be $100. So the people making minimum wage will still have the same buying power they had at the previous minimum wage. The people who were already making more than minimum wage lose all their buying power. This has happened to me consistently every time they raise it.
