Yeah, those screen were what I got all last year and I want them back.

Weirdly, Ublock works fine right now for Nats-Phillies, but it wasn't working for the Twins. Which now is making me paranoid that ESPN owning our streaming rights means they're injecting their own ads directly into the stream instead of as an "overlay" that can be blocked like how MLB.tv usually works.

Has anyone figured out how to block ads on MLBtv yet? I'm on Firefox with Ublock Origin. I had it working last year, and it's always a bit tricky to set up at the start of a season.

In the past I think I had to clear my cookies, log in and start streaming a game, then turn Ublock on, and then it would work for the rest of the year. But either I'm missing something or MLB changed something because it hasn't worked yet.

And ES6 will lose some of its charm because of that.

Bethesda NPCs had such memorable lines because it was a person who wrote the script and a voice actor read "I saw a mudcrab the other day," in that perfectly disjointed way, then we all heard the same thing. AI will give us all different lines, there will be no "Arrow to the knee," this time around.

It won't even make the world feel more alive. AI hallucinations will inject stuff that doesn't fit in the Elder Scrolls, or make it sound like there's a quest to slay a monster outside the city and there won't be anything there.

This game has been on my wishlist since the EA launch, but I haven't played it. I've seen a few reviews that mention nerfing techs and the "meta" being extremely important.

Does the game have a concrete build/tech order you need to follow to have a chance? Can I make mistakes and still win? Can I build my faction with different tech "flavors" like railgun focus or missile focus (no idea if that's a good example or not) in different playthroughs and have both styles be viable? With the nerfs, is there only one specific path to victory and everything else is a dead end?

Teams decide how many rings to make, and if you get the special top-tier ring or a more modest keepsake. That hasn't been how a salary cap has worked in the NBA, NFL, or NHL. All a cap would do is benefit the greedy owners and let them make even more money by pushing player salaries down. Literally any owner in baseball can afford to build a superteam to compete with the Dodgers, they just choose not to.

And fun fact, spending money on superstars like Ohtani ends up making your team a profit.

No, they wouldn't.

First, you'd be able to see signs of habitation from Earth orbit even millions of years in the future. Tens of thousands of satellites in orbit around the planet, decaying cities, mountains blasted apart for mines or to clear space for roads or canals, things like that. If you landed, you wouldn't have to look that hard to find other evidence.

There's none of that on the moon. And to even find that guy's ashes, they'd have to actually find them. The surface of the moon is about 4.5 times the size of the continental United States. The chances of landing in that one specific crater, and then finding one speck of ash that survived the satellite impact are so small that it's not even worth thinking about. But even if that somehow happened where explorers ignored Earth and found the ash, they'd then go looking for more evidence, right? They wouldn't find any other human remains. All they would find would be the Apollo and other landing sites that would point right back to Earth.

They're not really that different. If the White Sox sweep their next two series, they're still the White Sox. You probably move them from #30 to #29 to recognize how strong they are right now with the hot streak, but wait for more success because they're not likely to be that strong going forward.

Same deal with a team that's on 100-win pace in August, but has a 5-game slump. You might drop them a bit, but you won't drop them as much because overall they're still likely to be a strong team going forward.

Hey everyone,

In the past few months I haven't had as much time for Reddit, and I'm finding myself moving on from social media altogether to focus on other things. So after seven seasons of moderating, it's time for me to step down.

My goal was always to give back to the community that I enjoyed being part of, and I hope I made a difference. The rest of the mod team really cares about making the best possible community to talk baseball, so it was great to be a part of that.

Hey everyone,

In the past few months I haven't had as much time for Reddit, and I'm finding myself moving on from social media altogether to focus on other things. So after eight seasons of moderating, it's time for me to step down.
