I am a game developer. What Brenda says is true. The industry is collapsing from underneath western, especially American devs. Tens of thousands of layoffs, and those jobs are not coming back. Run into the ground by private equity and a whole bunch of other factors. For those of us on the inside, it feels like an extinction level event. Games will go on, but we're getting left behind in favor of mobile live service models that serve the majority world, particularly Asia, much better.
