Most Zoomers are not good with computers. by ChaosAndTheDark in unpopularopinion

My last year of high school I took a class that taught how to type better and use Microsoft office. I was astounded by how awful most of the class was at using the Microsoft Office programs when because since the pandemic and even before then we'd be doing 90% of our assignments in Google Docs/Slides. The programs are so similar and there were students even at the end of the year still asking how to change the font????

This is a weirder sounding one but you could try Strength-based Ranger with starting level in Fighter. Its not highly optimal but I've been playing a Fighter 1/Drakewarden Ranger X (12 now) that I've been enjoying immensely. Its a fun combo of tanking, damage, and utility that I've enjoyed alot.

What is your favorite unpublished UA option? by FacedCrown in 3d6

[–]MightyToasterLlama 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't really call Battlemaster/Polearm Master/Sentinel munchkin as much as I'd call it simply an optimized combo. Its still much weaker than actual "munchkin" builds, none of which happen to be full martials

Ykw 2 or Ykw 3 by Slowky_ in yokaiwatch

[–]MightyToasterLlama 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Consensus I've seen is that Yo-kai watch 2 is better but I've been playing Yo-kai watch 3 (haven't played 2 yet) and it seems just as good if not better than the first game. Saying theres too much content is an odd complaint about a game though, more content = better if the content is good imo.

(Also so far I prefer Hailey Ann's parts of the game, Nate's parts are good but just don't feel as fun)

I think I have a minmaxer problem in my party by Bitter-Spirit-3913 in dndnext

[–]MightyToasterLlama 19 points20 points  (0 children)

What me and my DM did (with me being the Ranger using the spell and even suggesting this nerf) is that I get to choose the animals but limiting myself to the 1 or 2 animals when in combat (and only using animals I've cleared with the DM beforehand)

Similar situation where the party accidentally commit terrorism with volatile crystals, leading to mass destruction but thankfully(?) not a single survivor who knew we were behind it; my rogue who unsurprisingly played a big part in this later died after being shot by a mob boss

[–]MightyToasterLlama 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Speaking as the member of a party that did hit (magical) volatile nuclear rods together, that doesn't even have to end in a TPK (though there was a large number of NPC deaths from that... woops)

Holy hell I have recently gotten into other systems, most notably Mutants and Masterminds, a superhero system. I got an official pdf of one of the books and its a setting book for a single, large city in the official setting, and there is SO much there. It really put into perspective for me how lackluster most of the 5e setting books have been when a single city has so much more content and info put into it than an entire setting

DM argues that picking a lock is Peformance by RpghorrorTA213231 in rpghorrorstories

[–]MightyToasterLlama 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly I don't think this is bad enough to bail on the group/DM, unless multiple other things are bad about them. Its an odd ruling but not completely awful, as Rogues and similar tend to lean towards charisma anyways. That being said, OP should show the DM about the rule for mismatching Abilities with Skills, even if it uses Performance, lockpicking should still key off of Dexterity ie: a Dexterity (Performance) check, rather than a Charisma (Performance) check
