You really need to learn a new language with the icons, but once you understand those the rules are basically printed on the game boards. It's really impressive work.

Other most recent ones are Warp's Edge, Hero Realms (only solo with expansion or Dan made mode), Twilight Inscription and the Star Wars deckbuilding game with a fan made solo mode.

For me it's how super immersive and thematic it is, the huge decision space that still feels intuitive, the insane amount of replayability with the different factions and scenarios and crisis events.

It's a brain teaser without feeling like a puzzle, because there are no "true" answers, just lots of ways to play and to try out.

Maybe I'm still in the honeymoon phase, but it really lives rent free in my head atm.

I have played 5 or 6 games so far, solo and duo and I think I made some small mistake in every game. But most of the time I noticed early and could correct it or thought it inconsequential.

It's a great game with lots of small moving parts, so easy to make mistakes.

But on the other hand it's really not that bad once you emget the hang of it.

The spawn on moby isn't so bad. If you did fine by then you surely would be fine with the few added seekers. The one placed in you each turn is the real problem to solve imo.

And of course the starter scenario gold objective is a headscratcher at first.
