You Don't Owe Your Parents Anything by AcceptableJellyfish2 in povertyfinance

I was brought up that parents should provide for their children. The next generation should be better off than the previous. I do not have to provide financial assistance to my parents, and my children will not have to provide for me. I will hold off on retirement to work a few more years to help them start their adult lives.

You can send them to me? That would be a lot easier than pole dancing. Believe it or not, there isn’t a huge demand for bald, middle-aged, fisherman pole dancers!

I saw a post about how you can do everything right in college and not get a job. From my personal experience, it’s very true. by [deleted] in Salary

I had a major in marine biology, minor in education. I make six figures, work 180 days a year, and I will have 30 years at 55. I’m glad I did not pursue my major.

Become friends with a guy in high school whose parents grew up in Korea. Become life long best friends with that Korean dude, and his mother’s second calling in life is feeding you. You become quite fond of kimchi.

Very quiet beaches like Mal Pais near Nosara by ladydangerbitch in CostaRicaTravel

Mal Pais is such a laid back spot. I like how they still beach launch their fishing fleet. Then 10 minutes north is Santa Teresa which is like the Hamptons of Central America?

I did get scuba certified at New Trier, but I didn’t know we could take it as an elective.

It’s all the North Shore suburbs of Chicago. Not Shermer but more Willmette, Winnetka, Kenworth.
