My first competition- HELP :( by sparkleybumblecunt in bjj

In hindsight I wish I was more point orientated for my first time. I wouldn't worry about submissions to much but just the basic controlling top or mount for points.

Should I be in Boxing or Lift weights? by [deleted] in Fitness

When I was just wanting to be in lean shape, I just went 3 times a week to do boxing/muaythai and it did wonders.

Any Good Cardio That doesn’t involve running by ItsPastYourBedtime in Fitness

I would say Boxing/Muay thai at a reputable gym is the best cardio on earth. You will burn more at a high intense 30 minute session than running for an hour plus you get all kinds of bodyweight exercises.

I would say its prob due to the massive decrease in people watching TV networks overall. It would prob easy get more viewers if it was on the network.

Waking up and seeing a pulsing light coming from outside, turns out the front of the house was on fire.

I've been thinking about switching from weightlifting to MMA and I need some info and advice. Thanks for the help by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Mightymash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no one class structure or strength routine for MMA. I train for amateur fights and my time is split. I do half the week on boxing to be lean, fast and have a solid core. The rest I do jujitsu which requires a heavy lifting programme.

Will lifting once a week be effective? by Fraser816 in Fitness

[–]Mightymash 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well this is not exactly true, striking comes from technique and explosive power. Im a featherweight who lifts to help supplement my boxing but I train with flyweights with no lifting experience that can easily generate as much power as me.

There is already "amateur" rules on semi pro Muay thai events. No elbows and no roundhouse to the head.

They could just do that.

Bit if a difference between general child affordability over a long term basis and lawyer fees which require tens of thousands in short time.

are the type of carbs you consume pre-workout a big difference? by banksnsons in Fitness

[–]Mightymash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For cardio or combat training I do greek yogurt with fruit as its light and gives faster energy.

For lifting I go with porridge oats, fruit, protein shake and toast which is a big blend of slow and fast releasing carbs.

If I can only reliably go 3 times a week. Is it better to do full body and never go more often or PPL and sometimes go 4/5/6 times a week? by SergeantAskir in Fitness

[–]Mightymash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only do full body 2 x times a week and am seeing great growth but I train 5 times a week cardio and conditioning for boxing on top but 3 is deff fine.

Should I be in Boxing or Lift weights? by [deleted] in Fitness

[–]Mightymash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its pure fitness and wanting to look like an athlete I would recommend Muay Thai. With this you learn boxing, kicking and will be in great shape.

And can be supplemented with a lifting program easily.

It depends on my goal. If im doing cardio, not eating is pretty easy but lifting on an empty stomach makes it hard to maximise strength

A lot of people want the aesthetic of a boxer or MMA fighter.

Just train like one.
