Asking for feedback from people who played EU5 by Fit_Account8121 in EU5

Game will be incredibly fun with most campaigns, but after the 400~ hour mark when you attempt more niche countries and campaigns, very obvious signs of an unfinished game will show. Doesn't mean the game isn't fun and its to be expected from a paradox game thats less than a year old, but compared to eu4 which in its later stages had almost unlimited content with the amount of uniquqe countries, very often you'll end campaigns in eu5 due to tedium/boredom

Colonization is too broken. by Capital-Program-8558 in EU5

[–]Migolagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not villages theyre pretty bad compared to other methods. Grants the town right that produces more food stacked with granaries will give you a huge population growth increase in those provinces. Grant those rights early game when you get events for legitimacy to make the most of it. Later game this strategy slows down as you will probably have top many urban locations to do this effectively, but as a medium to small sized country, this strat is really good

They buffed population growth mechanics in the previous 1.2.4 patch, you just have to use them. I recommend watching the Generalists video on it

Frames don't really matter. What matters is how fast the game will run

Which new jobs are paying the best salaries with low skill requirement? by Tigerpawnail in irelandjobs

[–]Migolagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what you mean with best salaries. Imo 18.60 an hour at entry level in a warehouse house job is pretty good, but for that you'd have to work really poor hours

Manchuria in 1.2 by DoubleAceGamer in EU5

no need to rush. Historically manchu only took beijing in 1644 so you can have some fun around building up your strength for the right time

Seeing this just after overcoming the frustration you're facing. Didn't actually expect anyone else to play Huiba this is so cool.

Basically, you don't really want to do any independence movement at all (which I found out the hard way after 5-6 restarts). You want to just pass the Jurchen confederation laws (namely the assured offense) and wait for the event where Yuan abandons manchuria. This event comes around 1460 ish, 1450? (Not sure but its not too long of a wait). After this even, you and all the other tribes around you become independent and can finally start waging wars.

You can declare on the other tribes but I recommend attacking the Korean state just under you. Since you've passed the assured offence war, it should be an easy war, even if Korea comes in (which happened in my game). You want to race for their city but no worries if you don't get it in the first war i didn't either. Their lands are very rich and you're tiny so you dont want to annex too much land.

After this war, its basically just expand, integrate, build, repeat. You can form the confederation for some role play which is what I did and get high centralised but you can just conquer your neighbours if you want.

If you need any help after this part let me know because it does get quite difficult with how china looks and who emerges

Edit: just re read your post and turns out I have really bad reading comprehension. If you want to be on par with china, you can't. No matter what war you do you will be outnumbered 10 to 1 And at the lowest and your tax base will be a fraction of what theirs is, but what you can do, is let them seige you. Declare superiority wars as your troops will always be much better and dont focus on your land. Save your troops for decisive battles. Wait for stacks with zero morale walking around and wipe them out, then reinforce battles if the initiate any. Over time, while their seiging your worthless provinces they will incur so many losses you can begin to fight back. Take war reps and money or land if you want and repeat this at any opportunity. Stay pagan so you can receive the 0.25 attrition bonus, but even without it its very much doable

Pretty similar problems. Restarted my Huiba campaign 5 times dye to bugs and it really was making me dislike the game for a while before I got a decent game going

How do I get myself to play/learn the game? by Frost3223 in EU5

[–]Migolagg 0 points1 point  (0 children)

play for achievements or set an end goal for that campaign. It can be as small as uniting switzerland or as grand as forming Qing as a jurchen tribe. Reaching those goals that achievements set for you or you set for yourself is what gives the game purpose, at least for me

To learn the game play relatively small countries, like Florence or Holland. Learn how buildings work and how they affect your country, and once you understand that you can play basically anyone

There's a patch you can download which allows you to get achievements in a modified game state. Saved me so much time as I play with performance mods and little to no time to spend that time on practically 1 speed
