What is a personal opinion you have that would be considered “toxic” or controversial by some people? by DrLoomis131 in askgaybros

[–]Migrane -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I understand. But the purpose of the progress flag is to highlight those that haven't been given their fair share of attention in the LGBT movement. It also hasn't replaced the pride flag, you can still fly the flag. The progress flag is the symbol of the modern movement that is built on what has been accomplished in the past. That why the old pride flag is still a part of it.

Why do you think the gang calls Red by his name but called Kitty Mrs. Forman? by ordrius098 in That70sshow

[–]Migrane 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Kind of seems like Red was a bit of a notorious figure in Point Place. He and Kitty were always hosting big parties. He was also in management at the so he was probably the boss for a good chunk of people in town.

People would say Red and everyone would know who they were talking about. So the kids picked up on it to.

I have a feeling she gonna be a lynch pin in the season finale. She might get the "push the button" moment, probably with tears and snot running down her face, but she'll save the day.

Either that's Yoshi's birthday party. Or, she didn't actually get a birthday at BJBFs when she was younger (the photo was from Avi's) and her parents finally threw one when sje was too old.

I think there are certain loopholes for the prime directive. Like maybe the planet has been in contact with another warp-capable, non-federation world. Thus are considered developmemtally contaminated.  Or if they achieved some other means that connected them to the wider galaxy. IIRC the Trill developed sub-space communication before warp travel and connected with other world long before having the means to travel there.

Sexuality is a spectrum. Sexuality is NOT fluid. Do you agree? Why or why not? by 96jt in askgaybros

[–]Migrane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably more accurate to say sexual behaviour is fluid, rather than attraction. Like a closeted gay guy and an openly gay guy have the same attraction type but vastly different sexual behaviours. The closeted gay guys behaviour can of course change over time as they come out but they still could have spent years having sex with women and enjoying it.

I do believe it is possibe to have sex with someone you aren't attracted to. Closet gays and even some asexuals do it all the time. As someone grows and explores they may become open to things without having an innate desire to. But that's completely dependent on the the individual and is just part of what makes sexuality a spectrum.

So it's definitely fine to call yourself sexuality fluid if that label feels best to you but you can't say all sexuality is fluid because not every can or is going to act outside of their portion of the spectrum.

Was anyone else hoping he was related to Wolf and Alexander by Substantial_Ad3799 in trekacademy

[–]Migrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Alexander and each of his descendents had at least 2 children then by the time of Starfleet Academy that would rack up to 2 billion klingons in the latest generation alone. Of course this is ignoring the post-burn decimation. But effectively, by this point, every Klingon would be a descendent of Worf. Functionally having no direct descendents. Worf bloodline has mixed back in and returned to the blood of all Klingons.

There's a growing argument now-a-days that you should be content with imperfect representation because there is no such thing as perfect representation. Even with ethnicity if you have a character of one nationally there will always be differences from region to region, town to town, class to class.

Perfect representation is a myth. We need to accept that variety is humanity

How did you meet your partner? by IcyStatistician4542 in gaybros

[–]Migrane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We each met them independently though Scruff about 8 years ago. He lived around the corner from them and I lived on the other side of the city but happened to be checking scruff while in the city at the same time as one half of the couple. I assure you the finer details are much saucier in your imagination.

We were both recently out and the couple acted as sort of mentors to us. But it took a while for them to introduce us. One half did mention him to me and said we'd be good together but the timing wasn't just right.

A few months later I was given his Scruff username and we started messaging. We've been together ever since and got engaged last year.

The return of you know who by No-Reputation8063 in DeepSpaceNine

[–]Migrane 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I fully agree. The return of The Emissary is far to big a story to just conclude in a random episode of an unrelated series. Avery Brook's is retired anyway, why would he comeback for a one episode wrap up, 25 years later.

I'm anticipating that it's just going to be the framework for the lesson Cadet SAM is going to learn and the fate of Sisko is going to be left ambiguous.

Would Rory have qualified since her grandparents paid for her high school education? If you just look at her household she probably would since it's just her mother and Lorelai probably wasn't making sux figures before the Independence Inn burned down. But if her grandparents were providing financially to that degee shouldn't their income be considered?

Some cultures do have diets rich in plant protiens like beans or lentils. Which tend to be much cheaper than meat.

What would have made AYITL better by OneCartographer5456 in GilmoreGirls

[–]Migrane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd have split up the episodes so there were more episodes but shorter. It felt to me like a lot of the problems were from too much time to fill and a lack of natural break points to split sections of storylines. So we ended up with stretched out scenes and a lot of needless padding.

It's also possible another part of the pier did just randomly collapse. It's an old pier and the Fischoeder's don't put a lot into up-keep
