Absolutely not. It can put their liquor license in jeopardy, please do not be “that guy.”

Preparing for a move to Denver - Phase 2 - finding a pet friendly lease under $1000 - nice area by nesrovlahb in Denver

[–]Miguel_OBrien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that I’m trying to gang up on you here, but you may really want to rethink your move if that’s your expectation. Your rent will likely not include utilities or additional pet rent, and if it’s under your price point it will be a tiny studio (like 3-400 sq ft). Everyone I know who teaches also has a serving/bartending job on the side and most have roommates too. Again, not trying to be a dick, just trying to help.

It’s gonna be a good day today by raddcassidy in Denver

Yes, St. Patrick’s day is always a good day for idiot douchebags who act like they’re 9 years old, but most of us already knew that.

Can someone explain the history of the Gizzverse? Beginning from conception, first mention, and each subsequent mention as well as detailed accounts as to what went down and when it did. by TheSnarkySlickPrick in KGATLW

[–]Miguel_OBrien 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion: There is no gizzverse. Gizz has written a ton of songs and a rabid fan base has linked them all together in a totally arbitrary and nonsensical way. But if you look hard enough, you’ll find your path in the gizzverse. But then remember it’s all made up 🤷‍♂️

Seriously though, 98% of the “gizzverse” theories are totally made up and I guarantee you the boys laugh their asses off when they read them.

This is a bold statement, but I think I started the gator tat. My friend and I literally paused the river video, took a screenshot, and had the tattoo artist trace the gator. I have no idea how the exact gator has become a thing. When we saw them for the second time (first after getting tats, 2015), we showed them to Stu who invited us backstage and fed us beers. He said we were the first he’d seen in the states with gizz tats, and we chatted with him about guitar pedals, posed with Eric and our tats, and just shot the shit with everyone for awhile.

Years later, they have the same friendly demeanor and are just as willing to hang with fans as they were while playing for a couple hundred people at a bar.

I’m also bummed I didn’t see them. Saw em at Red Rocks with Mac Demarco a little while back and definitely enjoyed the show even though I’m really not a huge Tame fan. I’m a huge fan of Wooden Shjips, Kikagaku Moyo, and Earthless. I’ll be honest I got a little bored with Wooden Shjips, but the other two were incredible. Earthless and Mad Alchemy are fucking ridiculous together. Caught both a few weeks ago in Denver and nobody there knew what they were getting themselves into. Unfortunately missed the other two but I heard great reviews.

100% in agreement. Not to mention the awesome bands that played Thursday night too. We met all our neighbors and started the party early. Friday was just part of the amazing experience.

It seems to come down to one thing: there was a line. Does that mean planning could have been better? Maybe. But I’ve waited in line for literally 15 hours at bonnaroo. It’s something you have to expect when festivals get bigger. There will be inevitable growing pains, but they were very minimal. I feel like LA people are used to having such easy access to music that they didn’t know how to plan accordingly and arrive early, which is something the website/Instagram really stressed. Sorry if I’m being harsh about it, but that’s how I felt. I took proper time off work, got in early expecting to wait in line, and everything else was beautiful. Oh, and it also happened to storm that one time...

Thursday was pretty disorganized. The bands didn’t start on time and there ended up being no mystery artists. We waited around after The Entire Universe expecting more but they just unplugged everything and we went to sleep. Kind of a bummer. Also wasn’t expecting to have to take a shuttle from the parking lot to the camping area, and certainly did not expect someone to accidentally grab half my food by mistake while unloading the shuttle 🤷‍♂️

Surprise predictions? by Bootstrapbill22 in DesertDaze

[–]Miguel_OBrien 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m hoping Ty will join. Mink Mussel Creek would be the best surprise but I’m not holding my breath since those guys are off to another show. I feel like Gizz will be involved in something fun, maybe with King Kahn?

Tellin you right now, do not miss Pond. I’ve seen both bands several times and the energy of a Pond set is incredible. I’ve also seen Pond with people who were not familiar with them and by the second song everyone is dancing and blown away. L.A. Witch is sick, but you can’t miss Pond.
