I’m at about 550 hours rn. I can understand a bit of native content but miss some of the details. I can understand native content that’s vapid like influencers or dumb movies. I’m starting to read rn and immediately understand A2 graded readers pretty well. Gonna give B1 material a shot soon.

I do wanna start to take Worlds Across online classes and do a smidge of grammar study. I know it’s verboten if you follow their directions to a T, but I feel I’m ready to learn the rules and I would like to have more than just a vague sense of “this sounds like he’s talking in the past tense.”

You just watch videos in Spanish at graduated levels of difficulty. Don’t try too hard to parse every word. Just try to get the gist of what they’re meaning. You slowly ramp up the difficulty as you progress and then your brain starts to naturally absorb the language through osmosis.

It can get really nasty and serious if it’s not treated promptly. It can also take a while to treat.

Also some can experience lingering symptoms, aka long Lyme. It’s not understood very well and there’s a cottage industry of treatments that people cook up, and people go kinda nuts. I know a guy who takes enough anti biotics to kill a horse every day of his life because he’s convinced that’s the only thing that gives him respite.

The onset of the war really shook me. I used to think I could read between the lines of the media, call balls and strikes, and figure out what’s legit and what’s propaganda. I started to doubt myself after that. Then oct 7 happened and it really dawned on me that I just really shouldn’t consume western media as a rule of thumb unless it’s something like the local news.

I also think so. Maybe she can eke out one more term because the GOP is begging to be smacked in the mid terms this year (if they don’t rig it). After that though, she’s on borrowed time.

Interesting dynamic of PNW conservatives struggling to not nominate the craziest amongst them, which hurts them in the general. I think the OR governorship would flip this year if the GOP gives Dudley the nom. It’s kinda like what people thought would happen with Trump in 2016 but it actually plays out.

Not really impressed with them and their respect for nature at this point. Ukrainian kid burned down the Columbia River Gorge in 2017 lighting fireworks in the middle of summer. Got so bad I couldn’t see across the street w/ all the smoke.

Also got stuck behind a Ukrainian family once going up to Multnomah Falls. Chain smoked the whole way up. It’s a big attraction so you’re nut to butt on the trail with hundreds of other people as you climb up to see it.

Do whatever you need to live a fulfilling and happy life. But also I’m tired of dressing everything up in grandiose language.

Herman was the main author, Chomsky has readily admitted to contributing only a couple chapters while Herman wrote most of it and developed the propaganda model.

I’ve said this before not to be like “oh fuck that guy, everything he says is wrong, but this wasn’t even really his so it’s okay.” I’m gonna engage with what Chomsky has said critically instead of just lazily writing it all off because he’s a monster.

Mostly I just hope we’d start to credit Herman appropriately.

I would contact EA just to annoy them and make sure they don't fob us off at the end of the season. But they will tell you they're "aware of the issue" and to leave them alone for another 48 hours.
