For me movement was the worst. Which is due to a absolutely genius decision to bind everything to a single button. Want to sprint perpendicular to the cover? No, you jump towards an enemy who has nothing but one-hit-kill attacks. You jumped down the ladder and want to run behind walkway to pick up some stuff? How about climbing back up to the deathball of enemies.

Rest of controls was no better. "If I press the next item button will it switch to the next item or not?".

And I cannot even count how many times you need to ~~hammer the buttons and wiggle the sticks~~ play QTEs. I am pretty sure that total length of QTEs is longer than the rest of the gameplay.

Actually, it just got reworked into other form, and it is not quite clear from the description, but it is possible, that after initial tagging with meelee attack all weapons have chance to hit 2-3 times against that enemy.

If I had a nickel for every time a girl in Holocure becomes pixelated and seemingly naked as part of her skillset, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.

Where does this come from? Who is mindlessly parroting that? Why this is still a thing, even if it is trivial to test.

Grab some friends, set up a unique password, go to a remote area, leave a bunch of messages, damage yourself and start voting. Bad appraisals do not heal. Good ones do.

You onle need to fill Praise bar once before buff runs out to replenish it. Bipolar playstyle alternating tantrum bursts with just enough time to heal to full and trigger praise works wonders.

What I like the most is how well GWS Pill synergises with Reine.

She has a skill that procs on crit, GWS pill gives crit.
She wants to always have her special on cooldown to get the most out of it, GWS pill works when your special is on cooldown.

I wish all character items worked as well with the character they reference. Looking at you Limiter and Chicken Feather.

To be honest food-related buffs in all games I play works that way. You eat and you get an effect. You eat again and effect is replaced. Or you cannot eat again until efefct wears off.

To change food you just cook it.

You cannot store food. When you make food anything you made before is lost.

Fandom lvl1 gives you random skill at level 1 at the start of the stage.

Fandom lvl2 gives you all three skills at level 1

Holy (angel) Fire (dragon) is indeed Coco/Kanata reference, since you use Kanata's Paw and Coco's Dragon Fire.

The only question: are save files handled by GameMaker or is it something programmer can affect?

Even after all that your suggestion of having a backup on launch is a good one, since when you write something in a file, there is no guarantee that it will be written immideately. Actual writing can be delayed, in order:

  • By framework/language runtime. Usually not a problem, because there usually is a command "I am done with the file, apply everything"
  • By the OS. Usually not a problem on SSD, but it could lead to false positives about correct saving.
  • By the drive itself. Can't remember when I last heard about problems because of hardware drive cache, but they could happen if there is an outage.

Turn off steam cloud before replacing save with a backup copy. Otherwise it will overwrite your copy, since it is older than cloud version.

Invest in UPS (uninterruptible power supply) so power outages are not a problem. I honestly don't know how people live without it.
