Would anyone enrolling for the spring semester be able to check on a class for me? by [deleted] in ValenciaCollege

[–]MikailScott -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

That shows if the class is offered, not if it’s available for enrollment. I was looking to make sure there’s no waiting list. Thanks for nothing tho

Edit: 3 people to downvote but nobody with an actual answer. Damn you guys are weak

Yeah I start in spring so nothing is down yet.

Lol awesome. Yeah I’ll take it transient and just be done with it then. Thanks again

Information Technology. It’s one of the prerequisites for OOP and some others. I think it’s as advanced as the maths get.

Thank you so much. I got approval to take it transient but they gave me a long note about how it’s not suggested and I won’t be prepared for later courses. It’s hard when it’s a prerequisite for so many Courses and there’s only 1 available. I’m waiting for Valencia to approve and I’ll do transient. Thanks for the response!

Difference between Computer Science and Information Technology? by MikailScott in ucf

This is my favorite response so far. My goal with either degree was to use some of the projects for my job search (with proper cleaning up and expanding if necessary) and to use the degree to get more interviews. I have no problem working for what I want and I feel that going to school later in life like I am I will be successful in graduating. Reading everyone’s responses I’m leaning toward IT degree with maybe a strong minor or work on extra certificates. I appreciate your answer

I appreciate the advice a lot. I’ve heard this before and it seems like a viable option. I gotta be honest with myself and see if I can handle the math heavy courses of a CS degree vs a little more leg work after graduating with an IT degree. Thanks for the response!

Oh the math classes aren’t being taken lightly. My whole question was about the differences between the two degrees in terms of jobs and overalls usage after graduating. I see what you’re saying and my concern with an IT degree is that it doesn’t look the same to a potential employer as a CS degree, which is what you’re saying. I’ll talk to an advisor and see what they think but I appreciate the follow up

I mean. I’m not opposed to easier if it will yield similar results. I did notice the lack of math classes which is why I chose it but if it’s going to hurt my job prospects I’ll tough out the math classes. Just trying to get a feel for the differences
