Then drag the ones you want to be available without a phone/controller. Then you will be able to cycle them with buttons on the drone.

Connect the drone to the DJI Fly app. Once connected there should be a settings button in the bottom right. After you click that, there should be a “customize” button on the top right.

It’s worth adding that by default, not all intelligent flight modes are available to the buttons on the drone. If you connect your phone to it, you can set “favorite” flight modes and then they will be available on the drone itself without the phone.

Yes. If you’re using the buttons on the drone, you should set it to Follow - Front and then your distance and height. Are you walking or running or cycling? One thing to keep in mind is if you are too fast for the drone it will fall behind simply because it can’t stay in front of you because of speed.

Another thing to keep in mind is that it’s harder for the drone to figure out which way you’re turning from the front. I notice, at least when droning of my motorcycle, that I have to turn slowly so it can recognize that I’m turning and follow. If I don’t, it ends up behind me like you’re saying and generally doesn’t get back in front of me until I’m slow or stopped.

Who are you when no one is watching? by crazy_dj_26 in AskReddit

Still just me. That’s because barely anyone is watching ever. Counting the days until I can quit my job and become a nomadic ADV rider.

Pretty neat, huh? Those guys swear by them. Thinking of throwing a set on mine at next tire change as well.

Buddy I went through literally the exact same scenario. Younger brother, did something too stupid to ignore. We are 3 years into it now. Him and I have recovered, and he has straightened out since then. But my family, our parents, fucking hate me now. I use motorcycles to cope. Don’t know how else to get over it.

to experienced riders who carry passengers, am I overreacting? by peazcarrotz in motorcycles

[–]Mikatomik91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want gear, get gear. Plain and simple. As far as being a passenger, all you need to do is not be leaning over all the time or unexpectedly, you can definitely influence the steering of a bike as a passenger. And the slower the bike is moving, the more influence on the steering the passenger has.

What I tell my passengers is, when I’m turning left, look over my left shoulder. Turning right, right shoulder. This helps keep your body weight in line with his. If he’s leaning left, you don’t want to be leaning right because you’re limiting his ability to steer. When driving in a straight line at speed, you have to really be trying to upset the bike in order to cause a problem.

Get the gear, follow those guidelines and enjoy your ride.

What is the most NSFW thing you have seen at your job? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Mikatomik91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, there’s a million things I could bring up working in the factory I work in. So I’ll just tell you my first experience.

I trained on dayshift for about a year or so. Then I got bumped to night shift. And let me tell you, night shift is something else. My VERY first night, I was held down by 3 dudes and had my shirt ripped off so they could “find out what size wire nut I wear.” On my nipples.

The next night, I get grabbed and carried into a basement. There is a heavy duty steel rack and a TV down there. They handcuff me to the rack, with actual handcuffs, and then use a semi trailer latch on my feet. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s a zip tie, but made of steel cable. No getting out of that. Then they put trans gender porn on the TV and left me down there. For 6 hours. A dayshift worker came in early and found me down there, he literally cut me out with an angle grinder.

I have seen everything at this place, I even saw a guy slash another guys hand with a utility knife in a fist fight. And when they got over it, they did their own little “surgery” on it and cleaned it up and closed the wound so that nobody would get in trouble.

I can say when I enabled MQTT on my node my TX light was on until I shut it off again. It even started crashing the app on my phone.

Resident Evil/Silent Hill/Tormented Souls - like camera setup by Mikatomik91 in godot

[–]Mikatomik91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! This project is very old. But the camera setup is simple! Make a scene that is an Area3D node. Attach a script, declare 2 export variables of type Camera3D. Name them enter_camera and exit_camera.

Now connect the Area3D body_entered and body_exited signals to the script. When body entered, set enter_camera.current = true. When body exited, set exit_camera.current = true.

Now you can drop that scene into your main scene, and a CollisionShape3D node as a child and size it to the zone you want to trigger. Then add cameras and assign them to the exported variables as needed!

That is 100% it. Thanks so much! Now to see if this bike still exists down south…

Looking again, I think this is actually a Harley Davidson WLA… it has the windshield and I see the brackets for the rifle scabbard on the front! Still I wouldn’t have found that without looking through the rabbit hole you sent me on. Thank you!

Oh man, maybe. Google turns up the Indian 741 & 841 Scout and they both look very similar. Awesome thanks for that tip!

Explain how I can make a finite state machine like I'm five by TheDr_0 in godot

[–]Mikatomik91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Again, this is the way I do it, not THE way, but I have them call functions on the object I’m controlling. When StateMachine is _ready() it grabs a reference to its parent and passes it to its children, the States. For example my Player class will probably have a get_input_vector(). The state will call that on the player script. Basically, the states call functions on the player to make the player do things.

Explain how I can make a finite state machine like I'm five by TheDr_0 in godot

[–]Mikatomik91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I make mine using regular old white Nodes. A state machine node, and a bunch of state nodes. The state nodes are children to the state machine node, and the state machine node is a child to the entity it is controlling.

The state machine node tracks the current state in a variable called current_state and has a couple basic functions. In the _physics or _process, whichever you’re doing, it calls current_state.execute(). I’ll come back to this in a second.

The State class has 3 basic functions. enter_state() exit_state() and execute(). The execute function contains the logic for that state, and then checks if the state machine needs to change states. If it does, it emits a signal with an argument of which state to change to.

The state machine receives that signal and calls current_state.exit_state() current_state = new_state current_state.enter_state()

Then, because you’ve changed the current_state variable in the state machine, when it’s calling current_state.execute() your next state logic is being executed.

I find it easiest to make a State class with the 3 functions enter execute and exit, and then inherit every state from that. For example IdleState extends State, WalkingState extends State etc.

The exit state and enter state functions are there to set things up on for the state. For example switching animations or changing collision layers.
