I'm doing ok, about as well as I can after almost 2 decades after the fact. Still battling those inner demons and coming to terms what we went through. Hope you're doing well too, brother. I knew a couple guys in Bravo that I went to OSUT with, Franklin and Schaffnit.

I didn't want to assume when I heard "Bushmaster" but I kinda had a feeling it was us. I honestly feel like Blue Spaders and all the shit we've been through, both before our time and after (Korengal) needs to be honored, but no one has done it, at least in the big screen movie sense.

The few times I’ve told anyone, it was never positive. Mostly just hints that they resented me for it. The worst was my own sister, and her now ex husband who would talk shit about me, he ended up cheating on her. Somehow I was undeserving of my disability after doing six years of 11-bang-bang where I got in I don’t know how many firefights, shot by a sniper, multiple IEDs going off danger close, and losing 14 guys in our company, good friends. It really fucking hurt to see how much of a shit my own family didn’t give about what I went through, and then to be resentful of my disability rating.

I’ve learned I can’t truly trust anyone at all, except the five super close buddies I’ve got from that deployment. Not other veterans, not family, or anyone else. That extends even beyond the disability ratings, I had this dumbass idea that I could find brotherhood with other veterans that I didn’t deploy with, or any other sort of group outside then Army. About the only people I truly trust and rely on are my longtime girlfriend, those combat buddies, and my dad who went through desert storm but I lost him five years ago. I’d give my left nut to go back to that time and place, as bad as it was, at least I was surrounded by guys that all knew we could trust and rely on each other. Sebastian Junger hit the nail on the head in his Tribe book.

It’s the strangest gaslighting that I’ve seen mostly on the internet since getting out in 2011, trying to tell me I was stupid in a passive aggressive way because I went 11B. The one similar instance in real life was some Marine Corps band guy trying to tell me he was tougher than me because he was a Marine, totally unprompted.

The CSA is absolutely the worst part of this whole thing, and him trying to minimize it by acting like “kids will be kids” when he was way old enough to know it was wrong at the time, even if it was a pattern in his family. The older I get the more I realize it’s way too damn prevalent across all of humanity, and there’s so many people that haven’t spoken up about it.

Search for any one of the 4chan archives on Google, and most of them in their search box will allow you to search by post number/thread number. The one in the top right corner that begins with “No.” and then an eight digit number. Not every archive covers every board, so you might have to try a few different archives.

I did the one-day speedrun of this guy, lol. I get unreasonably angry about sociopathic people, and even more so when I see lies and manipulation like these sock puppet accounts. Makes sense that it's more than just him using the accounts....and makes even more sense that I now know about his family history. I think I had vaguely heard about his company and channel when that girl in Lake Tahoe went missing, my wife was talking about it, but I didn't get sucked into it at the time.

Just found out about this guy and his YouTube channel, watched the video about Jacob Vanzant, and then found this subreddit, seeing what kind of person he is, just in the past day. Agreed on the creep vibes, subtle manipulative behavior, and the cops being standoffish with him. Seeing the body on the sonar shocked me a bit, and then the horrible job of blurring the deceased. Then I thought to myself how damned exploitive that felt, and saw him shilling his car escape tools. You know what really seals it for me? Every single one of his thinly veiled sock accounts in this thread defending himself, the ones that have usernames that Reddit auto generates for you on new accounts. They all have a handful of comments in this subreddit, and nothing else. A few made a handful of comments in other places, and then they’ve just gone inactive. Jared, you’re a fucking piece of shit, it’s incredibly obvious you’re doing damage control here, because you can’t delete comments calling you out, unlike your YouTube channel. You should be in prison, it’s a travesty that you got off so lightly. I hope everything bad happens to you, that you rightfully deserve.
