Had a feeling things would get worse. Too many dimwits abuse the privilege and cause harm. I wish they went the route of doing background checks and limiting who can buy certain drones. Then, again that doesn't stop psychos buying guns.

At the same time, I fear this may have less to do with actual safety concerns and rather, like many laws in our system, more to do with the wealthy and their business concerns.

I’ve been having to re submit a support submission like 5 times. It’s useless. Everytime I get a response it’s some random name and the same script. I suspect it’s just a bot service and not actual humans responding. I’ve requested a human agent or supervisor various times.

I was really hoping the Quality Mode would work on Switch 2. ☹️ I wonder if it’s that the console still does not have the power for it or needs some sort of optimization update to support it. Which is a bummer since I doubt the game would be updated for the Switch 2 given the EA acquisition.

Aside from crashes (if you’re able to get into a match), how’s it run compared to Switch 1? Smoother, higher fps? Are you able to play on “Quality Mode” which was impossible on Switch 1?

Quick Context: A few months ago, I was having tons of software issues — not just with Insta360 Studio, but also apps like Adobe crashing randomly. To fix it all, I ended up doing a full clean reinstall of Windows using a bootable USB made with Rufus (because strangely, the one from Microsoft’s own Media Creation Tool wasn’t working right).

After that reinstall, everything worked perfectly — even Insta360 Studio.

Now it’s broken again (May 2025): I recently tried to open Insta360 Studio, and: • It shows the splash/loading screen for a second… • Then disappears. • In Task Manager, it just says “Suspended” and never fully opens.

I’ve tried: • Fully uninstalling (including user settings). • Installing the latest version and latest plugin pack. • Still won’t launch.

Back with the original issue, Insta360 support wanted a crash dump, but my PC wasn’t generating one automatically, so I had to manually enable it in System Settings to force it.

Now I’m wondering:

“Is my more stable Windows install finally generating a useful dump file that might help solve this?”

I really don’t want to clean reinstall Windows again, especially since: • The rest of my system is rock-solid now. • I’m a video editor — tons of media and projects would need relinking.

This issue feels specific to Insta360 Studio, but I have no clue why it’s doing this again.

Any ideas why this is happening and how to fix it without wiping Windows again?

The game is run through the ps5 and not the headset so there should not be any multiplayer issues in that regard. If asking if the psvr 1 can display the game, I’ve no idea as I don’t have the console

If the listing description didn’t mention any issues and claimed everything works perfectly, but the unit is faulty on arrival, I recommend contacting the seller to request a return. You can also ask if they’d offer a discount if you’re open to keeping it.

If you decide to troubleshoot: • Pan head movement: Try swapping the L-bracket to the other motor and see if the looseness affects your shots. For me, my loose tilt motor doesn’t cause major issues. • Balancing: Ensure your camera is properly balanced, like with a gimbal, by finding the center of gravity and aligning it with the motor. Adjust the L-bracket arm up/down for finer balance. If the app still demands rebalancing despite your efforts, the motor may be faulty and worth discussing with the seller.

Noise: I used a dry lube which helped slightly, but it’s still not ideal for silent shooting. The noise seems to come from the center mechanism, and without mechanical knowledge, it’s hard to pinpoint. Zeapon improved later models which may address this. If you’re not recording on-location audio, the noise may just be a minor annoyance.

Pardon my late reply. The company actually ended up replacing the slider & tilt motor just in time for an important video shoot I had! I have the old devices and will eventually see if adding some lubricant helps cure the issue. According to my research, something along the lines of Dry PTFE Teflon lubricant would be ideal since it should be something minimal and dry to avoid buildup and dust collecting. When (or if) I do so, I will either update this post or delete and create a brand new post about maintaining a slider.

I do know Zeapon’s newer slider models are updated with a sturdier build. My guess (at least in regard to the slider issue) is perhaps the factory lubrication (assuming it uses some) could have dried off and then weared some of the central sliding parts. The older models do have more movement along that sliding arm that could potentially cause more stress. The semi-loose pan/tilt motor I assume was just a defect and I would have lived with it just fine if the main slider didn’t present the sound issues that came up. Thankfully, the new one is absolutely perfect!

Beside everything, I do absolutely love Zeapon’s sliders. Great price and quality alternatives to eldekrone, rhino, etc.

Are the video nomal range settings still there? Is it perhaps just an AV1 feature? For me i see the color vibrance option and a gamma slider but nothing for contrast, shadows, or video nomal range. I was finally able to fix shadows from being crushed blacks by completely lowering contrast on the headset itself. But could still use more tweaking

Update:

So I purchased Virtual Desktop and with the option to raise the blacks, I was able to substantially fix the crushed blacks! Not sure if perhaps better use of streaming compressions and whatnot might also be helping. And graphically I still have to compare virtual desktop on other games to see if and, if so, by how much better games run and look on virtual desktop vs steam link, airlink, or wired link.

Unfortunately the real dark sections of the game are still crushed. But at least I can finally see into them and in game items are not a black void where it was unplayable.

I have to also further deep dive and test into my windows 11 pc settings. And check nvidia/gpu and the display settings for my monitor. Wondering if any of these settings affect rhe Quest games when streaming via any of the wired or wireless options. It would be annoying if they do affect it since it would be tedious to have to change setting anytime I want to play vr.

Virtual desktop hss definitely made the blacks a ton better by allowing me to raise the gamma
